I think that kinda sums him up. He is worth having on the pitch because he might make something happen. But not always a net contributor.

More worrying is that he was happy with Wilf’s performance and wants more of the same. Anyone with half a functioning eye could see how poor he was - wonder goal aside.

Although - with there being some suggestion that PV has asked Wilf to be more consistent (so if true) they have clearly had a
manager / player chat about the way things are going etc etc -

Noticeably, last night - Wilf scores a wonder goal & the first thing he does is run up to PV and they both man hug -

I don't want to speak prematurely ( & clearly this is only supposition on my part) but I think Wilf actually heard whatever they talked about & took it to heart.

I think that's the problem.

I fall in the category of 'without a functioning eye' possibly as although I can watch the game, and a player who does not seem to have the energy and flair he once did, fails to operate as part of a cohesive unit and a temperament less stable than Joe Biden's legs, I still think of Wilf as a beloved son of Palace and our saviour when all seems lost.

I would be surprised if I was the only Palace fan to think like this, but looking at a life without Wilf may be a far more unsettling notion for some (me included) than the pitfalls of having him in the team.

It certainly looks as though his 'messiah' like status at the Palace is waning and we look to be heading for a new course but it can of course be difficult for people to let go of what they feel safe with. Personally, I wish Wilf all the best and would love for him to be rekindled under Pat however feel doubtful of this happening.

Cracking goal yesterday despite looking off the pace and struggling to hang on to possession at times but the penalty was a bit of a freak, not the result of ill discipline or lack of ability, hopefully it will provoke some humility in him for forthcoming fixtures.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Whatever you say about Wilf he gives 100% and nearly always pops up with a sublime goal to keep us in the match.

For me he gets the other players going and they look to him to do something special so play him.

I love wilf as much as the next palace fan! But yesterdays wilf just annoyed me! Constant moaning and waving an imaginary yellow card and Everytime a foul is not given takes him ages to get up and pulls his socks up!

And am I imagining things or are we a happier side when he wasn't playing the last month or so?

Just frustrating! You are fouled okay given or not given just get on with it! Likes of sterling, hazard, Salah (rolls a bit) just get on with things.

Wilf has the ability to grab a game and turn things I like this wilf!
