He will with a full pre season and it is the role made for him he has much more creativity and awareness fhan Gallagher.

Will be very interesting to see how we line up at Wembley.
Against Everton we started to see just what Eze can do. Massive.

1, Mateta is easily our best CF he is young and a bit Raw but knows how to play the role
2. Ayew is our second best CF he can hold the ball up well, win free kicks but is not a good finisher
3, Edouard hasn't got a clue how to play CF, he has skill, strength but no movement, i have no idea his position.
4, Benteke, least said the better

Maybe Nketiah(if we get him) or Plange will have more idea next season

Take my hat off to you Ad. Monday night totally endorsed your opening post, even Nketiah turned up!! The only exception was Ayew. His goal was top drawer control and quality finish.

Talking of talent, Arsenal have got a super kid Flores who was on the pitch pre match.
They reckon he could be the next super star.
His touches were unreal.
Sorry wrong thread.

I am disappointed that he hasn't played the Gallagher role in the U23s 3 or 4 times, i think the U23s should also be for getting injured players back to match fitness, as we can play 3 outfield overage players, but we don't seem to do that a lot, Eze and Edouard are players that need more game time

Just checked out a stat that looks interesting when we talk of centre forwards.

My feeling was that much of our wing play this season has been slightly sterile - at least from the point of view of chance creation. The notable exception being Olise. Our wingers get plenty of the ball and frequently look dangerous but are they creating there chances they should? Zaha has had one assist all season and I'm not sure that's all Benteke's fault!

The stat I've checked out is that we as a team lead the division by a very large amount for the times we are dispossessed. We are being dispossessed around 30% more than any other team in the league. It's quite a startling number really. A real outlier.

What is notable that the two main offenders here are our wingers who account for around half the times we are dispossessed. If you check out players from other clubs the main source of losing possession is almost invariably the CF. And these two characters are 2 of the top 3 players for dispossessions in the whole league.

Zaha 88
Ayew 63 (impressive really given his relative lack of minutes)

What this says to me is that as a team we are perhaps inefficient in getting the ball to our centre forward from wider positions! We can talk about upgrading there but if the chances aren't falling then it's moot?
