I agree and of course the cat couldn’t fight back.

not defending the idjit Zouma in anyway, but have you ever seen a proper nasty cat kick off.
If all the cats ganged up on us, we'd be screwed.
and there is the suitable punishment, 5 mins with a couple of ferile feline.

Bulls***.

We all know what your lame diluted definition of racism is.

You think that using hurty words is worse than cruelty to an animal?

This kind of debate is why even Kick It Out suggested that it was a worthless comparison.
Now, if someone had been kicking a human around because of their colour and compared that to a cat, you might be on to something.

This is the pits. The use of the race card when debating violence against a dumb animal:

Antonio has always liked a deflection

There is an increasing tone in the commentary around Zouma that if he was white this would not be such a story. This was being pushed by someone on Question Time tonight.

Cats aren't dumb unlike some of the owners.

More fuss being made about Zouma playing after the cat thing than Brighton playing Bissouma.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I haven't watched QT but I guess it wouldn't take long before a race element was brought up (again) in this matter. Personally, I think that is bollocks. No way would the general public be less angry if it was a white player.

I also listened to Talk Sport last night and apparently Chris Kirkland has said the incident was 'worse than racism' which is what inspired Antonio's remarks. I watched the video of Kirkland's input on You Tube and didn't hear that, but it may have been edited out.

In any event racism these days is a broad umbrella, and as someone has implied earlier if he meant that harming a defenceless animal was worse than a poorly educated inadequate sending monkey emojis to a black player then I have to agree.

But I am a stakeholder with 15 of the blighters, I had over 20 cats at one point, and if anyone did that to one of them I seriously wouldn't be responsible for my actions.

What fallout?? He played for West Ham that evening. He mentions players being accused of racism and getting an 8 game ban. Zouma has received no kind of ban. In what way has the reaction to Zouma been disproportionate?

Michail Antonio; "I'm not condoning a thing that he's done. I don't agree with what he's done at all."

To take a small part of an interview is childish, listen to the whole video and he tries to compare the crime to racism,it doesn't exist in this case.

As always, you latch onto racism when it's not the point - take racism out of the debate and the point still stands.

He's been dropped by his sponsor adidas, 3 club sponsors of West Ham have ended their affiliation with the club, a £250k fine.

In the Premier League currently you have a player who's killed someone while drink driving, a few sex offenders, at least one rapist and countless other examples of disgusting behaviour, and you don't see the same response.

That's my only point - it feels over the top, and Antonio happened to use racism as his yardstick.

How else do you decide what a proportionate penalty is other than comparing it to a disparate offense? That's fundamental to how a justice system works.

Again, Antonio is not claiming racism exists in this case, just using it as a comparison.

Pay a quick visit to Twitter on the Zouma affair and you will see that there are plenty of folks on there introducing the Race Card and accusing '' Whites '' of being behind the petition to take action against him.

I'm not buying that. I don't care about the race of the offender or what they do for a living. It was just plain wrong.

I think if Moyes had dropped Zouma from the Watford game, that might have been the beginning of the end of the affair. Instead the fallout has worsened.

Any club run by the Dildo Brothers and Brady is unlikely to show any class, but I expected more of Moyes and I think he's misjudged the situation.

Yes, and you are the one who raised the race card.

It's almost like some people are ready to pull it out at every opportunity.

I would argue that whilst you have a point in terms of what is tolerated that merely adds the notion that football is utterly corrupt and beyond saving. I am not a football fan but rather a Palace one and have nothing but contempt for the institutions, and the wider culture it has created, around the sport.

But cruelty to animals is a sign of a person being toxic. They need shunning and it speaks of a far deeper malignancy in a persons attitude. Which I believe is reflected in the wider revulsion.

So true. Racism can be caused by ignorance, irrational fear of the unknown and poor education. To hurt a harmless animal is just pure wickedness.
