I’m willing to stick my neck out and say that’s clearly absolute s***.

From the same people who were telling you that Putin was dying of cancer and was a madman.

I remember when I was younger and Russia collapsed seemingly overnight. Everyone in the west was in total shock. We were al told that Russia were this vast, all powerful efficient nation, so much so that some people in the west asked serious questions on whether or not we should try some Russian ideology ourselves...So how did it all go wrong? What happened?

It turned out that the USSR was thoroughly rotton, from the top down. A bloated pile of corruption and inefficiency but every level of society giving the impression of strength. It wasnt just the emperor with no clothes, it was everyone. We could not believe how badly we had fallen for the USSR's "Big tough nation" routine. Its actually laughable now we have enough information to piece it all together.

And thats what makes me so angry about us doing it again. We have spent the last 20 years nervously watching Russia, worried about waking "The great bear", and once again we have found out that its just a corrupt, tatty little nation with so many corners cut that the west have managed to grind this invasion down to a draw by giving Ukraine a bunch of redundant soviet weapons and a couple of decent missile launchers. The Russian economy was a total shambles, propped up by huge oil economy, their allies have seen them for the weak nation they are and have refused to help. China and Japan are seriously looking at some "old disputed territory". Russia just this week had to claim to their people that Ukraine have genetically modified soldiers to explain why they didn't just sweep through the country in the first week. They have given several nations with a long history of neutrality no choice but to join Nato.

When this is over we must never fall for this nonsense again, no more "strong Russian nation" no more "strong Russian leader" and no more "strong Russian military". Russia has ruined itself again, I dont know what the consequences are going to be, but I do think the Russian border will change over the next few years, but it wont be its border with Ukraine...

Russia are winning the war and it's obvious to anyone who cares to look at the actual events on the ground rather than articles by propagandists. Why that is....well it's hardly rocket science despite any system Nato introduces.....what matters is logistics and ammo. Russia have the advantage on all the metrics.

Emotions don't win wars.....and I say that as someone who is affected by the brutality of war. The best thing for the Ukraine is not to fight to the last Ukrainian.....the country is being destroyed.

Also there was never a 3 day plan to take Kiev, that's pure propaganda for the simple minded.

While I'm not pro Russia so to speak, I just don't agree with any of your analysis.

We will see who turns out to be correct I suppose.

It is unfortunate now we are finding how reliant the West is on Russia. for oil, gas, grain. As for Russia's military, I think that has been somewhat exposed. But then again, who can trust media.? The UK was a gnats whisker away from losing the Falklands battle, but that was only realised by the British public many decades later.
Being selfish, my take home pay has fallen and the cost of living is insanely high. Was that the Ukraine war ? Brexit ? Covid ? or just really stupid fiscal policy from the Government ?
