I don't foresee 'routing' myself. Much of the taken ground hasn't been by large scale battle but by Russian withdrawn due to being outnumbered. The Russians have made mistakes in this area of the front but they have been building up their forces for some time now.

Like I say we won't know the real outcome here for at least another week and more but the Russians are claiming that the Ukrainians used up their reserve in this offensive and have taken considerable losses that aren't really being reported....though I think French media recently covered it.

I don't see it that way. A feint to the south and attack in the north. Any gains near Kherson are just a bonus.

I'm afraid that virtually all outcomes for Russia are now a defeat, it is hard to work out what their objectives are nowadays, whatever they are they are no way as extensive as Day30 let alone Day1. Beginning to look like hold what we grab in 2014 (hopejully). Hence my thinking of battlefield nukes.

Soviet tactics, an unmotivated conscript army and a smattering of contract psychopaths does not seem to work in the 21st century warfare.

What happens if Russia start shelling from behind their border. Serious question as that would open the gates to Ukraine to fire back into Russia surely.

I would guess MLRS. Targeted fire on a specific target.

The more poignant question would they go through Russian soil to capture UKR located objectives. That would provoke a reaction from an authoritarian leader whose thrown away his grip on power.

Reckon that my view is far more balanced than yours, you purely see a western audience that is influenced by western media, I see as a Putin and an alt-right apologist. Afterall it is due to the alien lizard people.

As a keyboard warrior I suggest you don't respond so aggressively to everyone that does not have your POV. Perhaps you should jog on?
