I still believe a military invasion of Taiwan is incredibly remote. I continue to travel there often and the general feeling of the many people I know there is that the sabre rattling is a nuisance as it leads to economic shivers and to a degree flight of capital.

I don't remember scoffing at anything.

The people of Taiwan are pragmatic enough to know that they can expect no military assistance from anywhere.

Significant criticism of this war and more pointedly the lies within it on Russell Brand's show.

I'm hearing that the Saudis are looking at joining BRICS....if that happens it's a major disaster.

The Democrats are a foreign policy disaster for the whole west.

I'm not so sure.

If the policy of China towards Taiwan is to genuinely take it back then war while the US has Biden makes sense. What will make a difference is how many BRICS alliances they can make.

I'm hearing that Shoigu has agreed with Surovikin's conclusions on the Kherson situation and has approved the withdrawal of troops to the left bank of the Dnieper river.

It's being stated that the withdrawal of troops and the remaining civilian population will be carried out as soon as possible. In the next few days, Kherson will come under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Some leadership of the Ukrainian army believe that the retreat of the RF Armed Forces from Kherson may be part of an information-psychological operation to mislead Ukraine.

Interesting to see what happens here.

Interesting to see what happens here.

They've been fortifying Kherson for weeks if not months & then to call a retreat is very odd.
From a tactical standpoint being the other side of the Antonovskiy bridge makes sense, its a bottle neck surrounded by Rivers, Marshland & bogs and would be very difficult to move anything substantial through that.

If the Russians have retreated this opens up a new flank on Russians forces east of Kherson.

If the Ukrainians can navigate the Antonovskiy crossing then Crimea is very much in Ukrainian sights - take a look at the E97 road there's not much left before Crimea.

Its flat, horribly flat, I would'nt want to be a tank crewman on either side.

This is very interesting, Russian soldiers preparing trenches inside Crimea.

The mainstream media apparently, can choose which stories to run and which to omit, what narrative to give to those stories and tell you what you should think.....and you should be happy.

Take your propaganda like a good little sheep....just as long as it's mainstream....because apparently lawyers checking on what you should know matters a lot.....So the German citizen doesn't get to know who blew up their pipelines that they have to pay for...because 'national security'.....well how about the angle that in reality it's elites protecting themselves from criticism for decisions that have bad outcomes.

Apparently the MSM only tell you what's in your best interest and about protecting you from 'fake news'...just giving you the truth, except when they deem it not to be in your interest....which of course you should agree with.

Well, I say b0llocks to that. I say whoever is curating information has their own agenda...that's whether it's us or the Russians or anyone else. What matters to me is what is true....I don't accept lies or any BS language meaning the same thing.

I say the individual should take in multiple sources and decide for themselves what the truth is.....using their own brain....which apparently only mainstream 'editors' can do.

Like I said, wherever a news source is coming from.....use your own brain to ascertain whether it's BS or not.....compare the news you are given with what the result is....don't trust talking heads who don't stand up to scrutiny or who won't admit or review mistakes when they are wrong....you will notice that they just don't mention it again...deliberate omission is probably where most lying is done.

I'm happy for people to compare both of mine and WE posts and decide for themselves who they can trust on the material they read, themselves or the mainstream media.

Sure, though some media are more objective than others.

The world is far more grey than most make out and I prefer media that recognises that when it comes to what is more true, binary positions are usually parodies....slop for the easily media fed.

Yes they are. They are the ones with the resources to check and verify, before they publish.

They aren't self-important attention seekers, sitting at a desk in a basement, in front of a camera and trawling through disinformation deliberately placed to confuse and obscure. Who then conjure up stories to suit a predetermined narrative which reinforces the prejudices of a small but noisy audience of the "dissident right". Plus a few from the "dissident left".

Confirmation biases and conspiracy theories abound. Truth is a rare commodity.

By all means use multiple sources before reaching a conclusion, but don't use sources which have zero credibility.
