Benteke bashing is nothing new on here. Without his 15 goals in 2016/2017 season, we would of been relegated and may still be floundering in the Championship.
Some may not like it, but that was a pivotal season, we were just 3 years in the Premier and didn’t have as strong squad as we do now. Yes, he can be frustrating, but without him that season, the course of CPFC history would have changed.

Finally some common sense.

So because he scored 15 goals in a season 6 years ago (which was his job) we should feel a sense of nostalgia and keep him on the pay roll for the rest of his playing days despite his abysmal scoring record since and largely inept performances??

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Yet if we was talking about Wilf you would be looking through different specs giving him a pass which most people on here do they remember the young Wilf not the one who threw his toys out the pram requested a transfer.

Benteke is not the only person who has suffered have a look back Palace has a history of this issue and it comes from it's the lack of service plus the style.

I suspect his time with us is largely over. He has the odd goal in him, problem seems to be there are a string of goals and then nothing at all. He seems to miss the chances on a plate yet sometimes score harder ones. If he could add workrate and composure to his game - he'd be half decent like he was a few years ago. But I think most fans have had enough, he also does not seem to start regularly now. Maybe that will give him a kick up the arse he seems to need? I doubt it but it is possible.
Was it coincidental he seemed to improve when he wanted a new contract? It was a little suspicious and hardly endeared him to many fans. The Brighton goal in the game they dominated was cool though - kudos there.
