Just cannot understand playing Ayew for 85 minutes and Edouard for none.
Say what you like about Benteke, he can't have done worse than yesterday's front three. No shots on goal in the entire game.

Now you've gone to far

Gosh Lanzo, I find myself agreeing with virtually everything you said above. Virtually - not completely. IMO Zaha needs a spell on the bench to see how the chosen front 3 play as a team. I'd like to see a front 3 of Edouard - Mateta and Olise for half a dozen games and see how they gel.

It happens occasionally

Ayew is the classic player who your mate will say "it's his work off the ball that's so important and goes unnoticed" and you won't really know what he means.

Clearly puts in a shift but his end product is woeful and, given our lack of recent goals, we can't really afford to accomodate a defensive player in our front three.

The only argument for his continued status as a starter is to mask our deficiencies on the right side but I would hope that now we have McArthur and Kouyate back in midfield presumably playing alongside Gallagher, all of whom can tackle, that would be enough to negate the need for him to start.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Be interesting to see who starts in our front 3 tonight. Or whether we go 4-2-3-1

Hopkin looks to curl one!

I think Ayew will start tonight and play we will with Zaha up front as in the away fixture at City.
They dominate possession and try to create overloads down the sides and then find the avalanche of midfield players flooding the box.
It's very difficult to defend against for a whole game with the incessant pressure.
Ayew may be needed for a game like this.
I hope its not at the expense of Olise who could take a similar more central role as against Chelsea.

I expect to see Olise coming off the bench should we still be in the game late on for instance. Would be surprised and pleased to see him start however not in the realms of madness or impossibility.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

That is possible the biggest reason they are so difficult to play against. They have no Aguero who scores half or at least a third of their goals but there is about four or five midfielders who are in double figures.
