We have a terrible away record. If we don't have the lead at the 60th minute, the game will slip away and we will concede in the last 10 minutes and loose by a goal. If we have the lead at the 60th, we will still concede, but come away with a draw.
Based upon our form and away performances in 2022; 2-1 to Watford I'm afraid.

Well we had a good win on Saturday so in true Watford fashion we'll probably be rubbish on Wednesday and you win easily.

Probably with Hughes playing a key role and Zaha enjoying himself again.

We have only won 1 of the last 9 PL games and that was against struggling Norwich.

Zaha is not the player of old and I believe that in the main supporters don't really expect him to excite them as before.

I am going for a 2 nil win in this one. McCarthur and Gallagher back in the middle will make all the difference.

We have to click at some point and it might just come good on Wednesday.

I’m going for Watford 0-2 Palace

1-0 win for the hosts after a tight game with few chances. Either scoring very early on or, as we have endured so many times this season, in the dying seconds.

There's a flip side to that my friend. I'd say each and every one of our players can read Roy like a book and will know every trick he will have planned with the limited talent at his disposal (and yes, Watford are limited). Watford are not where they are because of Ranieri. They are where they are because they are crap. This means there is a limit to what Roy can achieve with this lot. I'm not predicting an easy game. far from it. but if we play to our best and keep the ball we have nothing to fear from Watford.
0 1

So you think our players will suddenly discover the ability to break through a packed defence, do you?

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

I was a critic of Roy, but mainly around the methods he employed as opposed to results.
I have to acknowledge he’s a canny operator though and proved me wrong about Riedewald (who I mistakenly thought should play) and Mitchell (who I thought wasn’t ready).
Having observed over a few seasons how he operates he concentrates on a compact shape in the defensive third with little space or gaps left to exploit.
However, he leaves loads of space in the wide areas presumably reasoning that his defenders can deal with crosses.
This is surely a game for Olise to play wide right and hug the touchline because I think there will be space.
On the other flank Mitchell may be curtailed going forward as he has to contend with Sarr, but it would be good if we could replicate Olise’s threat on the left.
Zaha doesn’t stay wide and in any event tends to cut in.
Schlupp may be the best option but may not be involved.
If we try and go through the middle we’ll play into Roy’s hands.

For me it's 0-1 to us.
We have in theory a stronger squad than Watford but we are weak up front so we should make more chances but will we convert them? Will Nat play right back again or will Joel return.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

He certainly doesn't excite this supporter Willo. In fact, if anything, I tend to become nervous these days when he gets the ball. Coming close is not good enough any more.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Watford looked pretty good against Villa last game so Roy has them set up well and believing. Granted Villa were struggling. Also you know Roy will have them set up to defend.
Unless PV can pull some rabbit out of his hat I'm worried about this game especially all the speed they have up front. I suspect a goalless draw and once again we have no shots on goal. Probably the best we can hope for.

One consolation POG, no Deeney or Doucoure to hack Wilf.
