Now, I like Christina Ricci... but Vincent Gallo?? An orgy of self-indulgence and a name that has quite rightly disappeared up his a**e.

On the sub-theme of complaints at cinemas, I went to see West Side Story the other week. Better than the 61 version and that WAS the best (i.e. only decent) musical ever made. Absolutely awesome in the true meaning of that word. See!

Anyhow, it was very quiet. I went (i.e. I was sent) to speak to the child clipping the tickets. Apparently somebody had complained about the volume!!! Needless to say I got them to turn it up to "11" and the experience was all the better for it.

Went to a movie with the missus a few years ago at our local Odeon. Can't remember the film but it was awful and we left after about 20 minutes. At the desk they asked why we were leaving, I said the film was crap, and they gave us a refund! Apparently if you leave before half an hour, you get your money back.

We were the first to walk out of watching LaLa Land after 42 mins.
My wife went into the loo on the way out, whilst waiting for her there was a steady stream of people leaving.
I said to the manager that it was a crap film. He said the theatre will be half empty after an hour.

No, but while on holiday in North Devon, I took Mrs YT and the two young YTs to see 'Skyfall' in Ilfracombe.

We sat through all the adverts, many of which had clear 'Bond' tie-ins and then the trailers, most of which were for action films containing a bit of an 'edge' to them. You couldn't be in any doubt that you were about to watch a film containing guns, car chases, loud shouting...that sort of thing.

Anyway, up came the British Board of Film Classification screen relating to 'Skyfall' at which point a mother and young son got up from their seats in the front row and made something of a 'walk of shame' up the auditorium steps to the rear exit doors.

That evening - and reminisced over ever since - we wondered what on Earth the pair had been doing there in the first place. Assuming they intended to watch some kiddy-related film, how did they manage to enter the wrong 'screen' and -having done so - how did they not cotton on to the fact, given the nature of the aforementioned adverts and trailers?
