In all of the deaths we've had, this is the one I can't get used to.
I saw Warnie take England apart at Lord's and I think Trent Bridge. I used to positively dislike him.
However, he was obviously a great player and, when no longer a rival, got pretty used to him doing commentary, presenting, doing hair loss ads etc. He seemed a down to earth guy, which is such an Aussie trait I guess. Anyway, RIP Warnie you beaut.

Yeah, I remember the days of people disliking him, but he did come across as a really down to earth bloke. So many from different walks of life have sent condolences and said what a good laugh he was to be around, which tells you a lot about a person. Still in shock about it. RIP.

One of his better series performances tends to be overlooked. This was in the 2005 Ashes when he took 40 wickets - 16 more than the leading England bowler. In addition he scored a battling 90 in the third test at Old Trafford, when Australia had been facing a serious first innings deficit, although England did miss two golden opportunities to dismiss him. He also took his 600th test wicket in that match.

Will we eventually like David Warner? I can't imagine that.

No, because he's a c*** whereas Warne wasn't.

Sad and what a shock.

Who will ever forget that dismissal of Gatting with his first ball in that 1993 Ashes series.

Actually, I've been trying to forget it since it happened.

A true great.

Even the Aussies don't really like Warner as a person and refer to him as a bogan
