Though they won't get money for him leaving (not straight away anyway, the money will be frozen until their ownership situation gets sorted), they also will reduce a big financial burden by selling off/releasing players that won't be a part of the team.

Right now I imagine Chelsea are unable to sell anything. When they are in a position to do so I can't see that they'll be anxious to sell an England player on a cheap contract with a 5/6 year contract. Logically they'd hold all their academy heroes and sell the likes of

Havertz
Jorginho
Kante
Rudiger
Thiago

That would shave the wage bill and bring in the bucks. If they get round round to selling the likes of James and Gallagher then that means they are looking at a liquidation scenario imo.

Maybe in relation to Reece James but it might also be very tempting quickfire £xm for someone who has never played for their first team? It's possible an administrator might want to find new clubs to stop loanees coming back wherever possible at the end of this season and adding to the wage bill. They have a lot of players in that camp.

Only big thing where they might want to keep the likes of Gallagher and James is their wages will be less than the likes of Havertz and Kante (for example).

I very much doubt whether Chelsea will go into Administration as that benefits no-one, the club isn't insolvent and the lawyers would have a field day for years to come
