I'm now taking a taxi only for the 100 yards to the bus stop and completing the rest of the mile journey to the station by bus rather than doing the whole arduous trip in a taxi. Saving a fortune on tips and walking the extra 10 yards from the bus stop to the station when I get off rather than being dropped right outside the entrance is doing wonders for my waistline.
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

I've just bought an electric radiator for a small room to give it a go. I've got 13 so an electric boiler is a no go. If it works I may go 50/50 electric and a new gas boiler. I've also purchased some insulation board for the dormer which currently only has roof tiles and the plastic. I've investigated all of the current options for replacing a gas boiler and none work for the house I have without considerable disruption. So I'm going to replace the old gas boiler with a higher tech one that integrates with the nest. I believe that eventually we will convert from natural gas to hydrogen, but it may take 10/20 years and will be a gradual process. We will need new boilers and other products. Cookers/fires etc. I'm supposed to be retiring early but may have to delay that thanks to putin. Edited by The groover (11 Mar 2022 2.07pm)
