never been more proud of a palace team than i was last night , they at to dig deep really deep to get that point , City was most of the match shooting from distance , Yes couple of times we lost concentration but the work they put in it was always going to happen , Man of the match pick anyone , Mitchell was out on his feet Kouyate maybe had the best game ive seen him play in a palace shirt , and the list goes on even Guaita was ok apart from that shoot but he got away with it this time and was solid after that .

180 mins of football and the best team in the world never got 1 goal how many clubs would love that. COYP

A fantastic effort from the players. To achieve 2 shutouts against that City team is a huge achievement in itself.

To get a result against teams such as City, you need to be on your game and have a little bit of luck too. So I think we thoroughly deserved a point.

I think Pep was having a go a V for his ' game management '. Maybe someone would like to have a word with him about the cynical tactical fouls that City get away with across the middle of the pitch.

MOTM - our Groundsman

We used every levelling agent we legally could.

And grateful he didn't for the pitch of course

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Pep moaned about our pitch. Wow. I remember playing Sunday league matches at Broadfield (Crawley) with literally six inches of mud up to my ankles. I wonder how Grealish would've done on those pitches!

A truly wonderful result against one of the best teams in the world.
We played with organisation, determination, grit, resilience and discipline and credit to Patrick Vieira, his coaching team and of course the players.

Man C of course had their chances but they haven't scored against us in both games this season.Since that 0-2 result in Manchester, Man C had scored in every PL game going into the game last night. In fact they have scored against every team this season except for us.

100% agree. We've had some inconsistencies and wobbles this season, but you get the sense Vieira's standards are embedding into the team. Those who implement them play, those who don't, don't.

Anyone's nerves not shredded after watching that?

What a sigh of relief when the final whistle went.

A great team performance.

Difficult to choose MOTM. For me it's between Kouyate and Mitchell. I'd probably just say Kouyate shaded it given the lion-hearted way it get going despite injury

I should have been there except for that damn nuisance called Covid.

I hope the lads recover sufficiently for the cup game. That performance will have taken a lot out of the players.

Proud indeed to be Palace

Good post and me the same as you - Covid stopped me being there - so the sofa it was.
Great game and what a nil nil that was!
For anyone who has played the game those backs to the wall games are brilliant fun to play in.
Brilliant.

He should have played top flight football when Best & co played!
Figges Marsh on a Sunday morning was always fun as well!

You clearly don't have a 'Soft spot' for those pitches of yesteryear!

Apropos Grealish, I suspect the mud would have come over his small shinpads and short socks.

Man City have played 27 teams this season and scored against 26 of them.

What a terrific manager we've got now.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Had to smile when I was typing my last post, especially given his very silly haircut, my spellchecker changed Grealish to Freakish

In fairness, that was about 100 years ago, I suspect they're better these days...

Perhaps you have concluded that whilst those pitches in bygone days have improved, the passage of time has resulted in your footballing prowess going in the opposite direction !!
