I agree, but if we manage to beat the European champions in the semi and then one of the best teams in world football in the final and lift the cup, I might have to seriously reconsider

Team spirit seems to be the best in living memory. Just watching the jubilation that certain planned tactics are working and when we do go a goal down, there is real resolve to fight back. The freedom of movement of some of the players now, like they can fully express themselves with encouragement.

It is really good and I only hope that a fire-sale goes on at Chelsea (wishful thinking) and we get Gallagher for a song. FA will have to an make admin decisions soon.

Surely you mean 'when' not 'if' you little monkey.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

When I look at how the top 3 play and finish then Palace have a lot more improvement to make (as constantly alluded to by PV). The team in the Coppell era were at the top. Palace today are somewhere between 4th and 8th. Our defence is improving but still fragile (Everton could have scored first 20 minutes of FA cup quarter final and a top 3 team would have). When I watch how Arsenal defend without the ball and how Man City create chances I can see that Palace aint there yet. But I think with a little more tweaking and improvement we can be in the top 3 and even win the league - not today though.

Blimey!

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Let's not carried away.

Yes, we look a good entertaining team and the Mateta goal was a brilliant combination between Zaha, Eze, Zaha and Mateta and our draw with City was marvellous. BUT the difference in class was marked. City should have beaten us and the reluctance of Guardiola to bring on Sterling and Jesus probably cost them.

I am a golden oldie having supported Palace since 1948 when I sat on my Dad's shoulders and have seen many ups and downs since then, mostly downs !, but our present team has a lot of potential which will be realised if we win the Cup and challenge for Europe next season. If we do we can then confidently state this will become our best team ever.

Man and boy Palace since my first game in 1948 sitting on my dad's shoulders

Might be worth a sneaky little bet, I’ve got a spare 50p in my sky bet account

We seem to have half decent cover in most areas. I'd say we're a pretty solid team and probably the best we have been in this spell in the Premier League. Gallagher means so much though: that we can get some kind of replacement (or him) is crucial if we want to be a top half side. We're probably safely a mid table side even without him. Viera's tactics starting to work and we seem to have a core of a team who it suits. And thankfully we have certainly worked on set pieces.

Yes, indeed.
Without Conor this is a different level side. It is he who makes a fantastic difference. In, truth, we never really found and adequate caye repalcement. Now we have and Conor's even better but he's off at the end of the season, no doubt.

With him in the side, we are, imo, better than any other Palace side I've seen, (since 1963). In the long term, it's a different question..
