The fact Everton have to play Watford and Burnley is both a curse and a blessing. Win those two and they are almost safe, lose them and they really are doomed.

It's basically in their own hands. A bit like a man who's been with the same woman for 20 years.

The thing with those two teams is they play aggressive football and Everton have shown they are not up for a fight!

Nor a football game either from what I've seen of late.

I have to say, I think it is very telling as well that I am an eternal worrier and pessimist/fatalist however I really didn't feel any apprehension ahead of our QF with them.

All jokes aside it's very rarely I go into a football match with genuine serenity and confidence.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I was optimistic too. The first 15 minutes were hair raising and annoying, but the fact we weren't properly punished for our sloppiness spoke volumes.

Everton are a miserable excuse for a team at the moment.

We're all Burnley fans tonight, right?

Nothing would make me happier than Burnley scoring a complete fluke goal in the 90+3 minute after having had 9% possession and faced 42 shots on goal, only to win 1-0.

In terms of Palace its been a while since we were safe after 30 games 14/15 if I recall when we had 36 after 30. Hull went down on 35 but at the time we weren't to know that.

Happy days.

Burnley looked pretty good when we played them but seem to have tailed off again. Hopefully they can turn it around with a win against Everton this evening and make it uncomfortable for Everton and Watford.

Shame that 34 points is probably enough for Brighton.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Oh hahahahaha Everton. Hahaha.

They can't even nick any points at the moment!

Next 5 games: Leicester (x2), United, Liverpool, Chelsea.

Goodnight, and, goodluck!

Having watched their game tonight.

They get gifted two penalties and still lose.

God we dodged a bullet with Lampard as our manager that’s for sure.

Guess he will be out of work again if Everton go down.

Great post-match interview from Dyche. I know which of the two managers I'd want in that position.

Told his team at half-time that Everton don't know how to win: put them under pressure and they'll buckle...and they did...against Burnley!

Didn’t Frank sing “regrets, I’ve had a few”
