We are looking for a different CF we have 3 giants, someone with pace, intelligence, anticipation, not someone to move a piano

I agree - that would be great, although lumping Eduoard in with those might be a tad unfair. Think he has skill/flair. But hopefully Plange fits the bill too.

Agreed. Edouard has looked good, but as a winger. He has good feet and the ability to score a few from that position. He was involved in both goals when he came on against Everton. The problem is that Zaha occupies that position but using him as a sub for 20 minutes or so and switching Zaha to the right when Olise goes off has worked fine. Looks like at least obe of Zaha/Olise will be missing v Arsenal so I expect him to be in the starting lineup

Based on what performances? He was playing and looking dangerous, then got Covid...and hasn't had a chance since.

Looking dangerous?? Really? He might weigh in with a decent goal every now and then, but you can hardly call him dangerous it’s all a bit few and far between!!

Made in Bromley

Yeah, there was a period there where every ball that went into the box...you felt like he might get on the end of it. He was making a nuisance of himself and scoring. Although admittedly it was only a short period...couple of weeks maybe...then he got Covid/fell out of favour.

Make sure we take full advantage of the 4 loan situation

Having a recheck of this squad it's interesting to look at Leeds under Bielsa.

Bielsa had a principled predisposition to a squad which was approximately 18 strong and made up to 25 from the youth team prospects.

This worked brilliantly in Leeds' debut season and I think it fair to say that Leeds have been a leading light in bringing through youth team players to the first team. This season the system imploded as Leeds had a Palace 2020/21 type injury crisis. Arguably they were simply unlucky in that they lost their 2 of their 3 best players (Phillips and Bamford) neither of whom you would take to be injury risks under normal circs.

Not convinced by the value of taking maximal advantage of the loans system - not least because loans tend to be very last minute affairs and it's accordingly difficult to plan for them. Leeds indeed were evidently planning for Gallagher! But I do think there is room for working on a squad that is heavier on youth than a traditional two first teamers for every spot would accommodate.
