I wasn't particularly referring to the Ukraine gaffs, more generally since he was elected.

I don't think discussing a politician's failings is a hate-fest.

That would be stupid, but not Irish

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

The man is an embarrassment to the Western World, and it is sooooo telling that the media say next to nothing.

Contrast that with how they acted when Trump was in the White House.

Biden is the puppet of the 'illuminati'. When we judge Russia for its censorship, we should look at our own society. It is entirely corrupt.

Russia has drastically more censorship than our society. There's little stopping you from coming out with any tripe you fancy or to state views of this war from one perspective or another. Hold up a blank people of paper in Russia and you can be arrested for picketing [Link] Acknowledge that war in taking place and you can be arrested.

You're trying to pump yourself up as some kind of brave bastion of freedom who dares to speak the truth, when the reality is that like anyone else unless you're dabbling in extremes or encouraging violence you're hardly likely to be thrown into a jail cell for stating a forthright or anti government opinion. And when and where there are exceptions to that, or further encroachments on freedoms brought in, you will not find anyone more against it than me.

Unfortunately in this country many of these laws are brought in with the left thinking they're sticking it to the right, or the right to the left. It benefits no-one though. May as well be thumbing our left or right eye out for all the good it does us.

He called it correct yesterday though re Putin - until the White House hastily re wrote what he said.

No he didn't, it was stupid.

Literal propaganda that the Russians can dine out on for years. They will play that clip to their populations for years as enforcement to their message that, 'the west hates us', along with the sanctions it's gold for them.....the guy already has poll support that's higher since the war.

While I agree with you that Russia is worse, I also think you are playing down....well, no I think I'll give you the benefit of the doubt actually and say you aren't aware of just how bad it is.

It's going to get worse and once the online harms bill is passed I think I will probably give up political commentary fully. Perhaps some will celebrate that but the parallels you draw between us and Russia will be far less stark.

He’s doing a worse job than anyone could have imagined, actually. And he can’t even manage good optics with his son having exposed how corrupt he is (despite the media’s best efforts at a cover up). But trump is the bad guy of course (eye roll)

I'm very much against the Online Harms Bill and also the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill. They are both textbook examples of playing the left and right against one another. The former likely has more support on the left on grounds of 'offense' (though I can think of angles to get elements of the right on board too), and with the latter when I was criticising the reaction to the 'Kill the Bill' protests on here etc it's easy to see a lack of support for expressions or rights that can be portrayed for relating to 'others'. Same with anti terror legislation when people viewed it solely through a islamic lens.

As much as moderates are easy to attack, it's hard to deny that a wider coalition is needed to counter such changes in the law, and that people drifting towards clan mentally on the left and right, are self comforting and just end up with a chocolate box in their basket that disappears once they arrive at checkout. The more people politically drift, the less there is any chance of a coming together on grounds that are mutually beneficial rather than moving more control into the hands of government.

Now, bear with me, i might be wrong, but i get the feeling you don't particularly like the UK's Prime Minister, Mr Boris Johnson. Its just a wild guest.

in the absence of a talented team around him, i would not trust Biden to manage a small Bar in Ibiza.

Within a week the Bailiffs, or somebody else, would shut the place down.
