Tho now FH is in another country gravy might just be a watery thing what TV chefs call Jue. Your daughter is not alone I fear, loads of peeps I talk to, have their Sunday roast dry(bleugh).

Yeah, imho, proper gravy IS a generational thing . . . *sigh*

Don't know what they're missing do they?

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

It's Jus, mate. A French word. Pronounced Jue, with a soft 'J'.

Found a chicken in the fridge and some nearly-out-of-date vegetables.
Roast chicken and veg for a mid-week evening meal. We is well decadent. Init. ?

Missus Forest cracked open the vino an hour ago, so it feels like Sunday already

On the subject of FH and his (not) roast pork, he says he had gravy with it. Well, my wife and I have just finished a roast chicken meal with the gravy accompaniment. Delicious!

But, is gravy a generational thing because my daughter and her husband never make it, preferring the meal 'dry'? Is it us or are they odd?

No gravy! Thats awful. I hate dry food. Gravy with almost anything and lots of it. Likewise deserts ` custard and/or cream !

Gravy is often the deal-breaker. The meat can be puurfect, but watery instant gravy can ruin the event.
Proper gravy made with meat juices and just the right viscosity,.. and temperature just a few degrees below boiling

Being in my early 30’s I will take it upon myself to speak for a generation.

Yes, the answer is yes, just them.

It’s a bit like saying “my friends eat cereal but without milk”. Any suggestion of a roast without gravy should warrant appropriate, professional, psychiatric intervention.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
