It’s possible that the absence of ID cards in Britain is also a factor.

EU ID cards are the most abused documents. Old style easy to forge and counterfeit, we should have insisted on machine readable ones years ago.
EU nationals registered here can still use them for travel atm

Even the author of the 'hostile environment' herself ex-PM Theresa May, has come out against this squalid policy.

Theresa May has criticised plans to send asylum seekers to Rwanda on the grounds of "legality, practicality and efficacy".

The former Conservative prime minister told the Commons she also fears that the new asylum policy - that will see refugees who reach the UK through illegal routes deported to Rwanda - could split families up and increase the trafficking of women and children.

She ought to know.

Theresa May is till looking for revenge over Brexit, no one really cares what she thinks now. Being an ex PM doesn't make you expert on anything

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Bogus argument from a bitter failed PM. They are split up already the family send a young adult male to do the journey once they arrive and have been granted permission to stay they then seek permission to bring the rest over. If they are that bothered about splitting up families they shouldn't send them over.

With embassies they are essentially little pockets of another country within another country. Why can't we have an embassy big enough to old all these people in Rwanda. That stops all legal issues as it is the UK?

It does tend to make you more of an expert on what being a PM entails, than those who haven't been a PM.

She belongs to a tiny club, all of whom contribute wise words to the debate from time to time.

I don't think Mrs May is a revengeful type of person. She might have been out of her depth, but I see more sadness, than revenge, in her words. She possesses all the decency, morality and respect for the law which is so clearly missing in Johnson.

She knows very well that the UK was hi-jacked into Europe and can see the results now impacting a country she obviously loves. I feel very sorry for her.

What results?

The current economic climate has nothing to do with Brexit.

I know you desperately wanted the sky to fall, but it hasn't as you and your other blinkered Remainer friends were told it wouldn't.
