Now down to 11 people and counting.

We could make it more worthwhile by including Sunak, Patel and Braverman on the flight.

Get JRM on there too and tell him to commute to Kigali for work every day.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Strange how the Social Democrats in Denmark can appear to do these things. Apparently their navy also put a load of pirates in a dinghy off the East African coast when no country would accept them, after the pirates had attempted to board a vessel. The Danes put enough food and water in the dinghy for the men. Again, strange how a liberal European country can do these things but we can’t turn boats around in the English Channel. There again, when you have 5 million asylum applications in 7 years, perhaps at that point Denmark woke up to the problem and decided to do something about it. Let’s see if the UK ever manages to overcome the dogooder brigade and do something similar.

Rwanda are enjoying themselves anyway. Their government seems quite proactive.

They get heavily criticised at home but the news does not seem to make it abroad. They have basically stated they don't want asylum seekers at all, due to the abuse of the system. They have also had the usual problem of Islamification - where they are taking a tough approach too. It's an interesting example.

The estate agents and car dealerships are doing a thriving business with government officials alone, as one said, its win win!

Also interesting that an EU country is controlling it's own immigration policy...

But this is simply fiddling whilst Rome burns.

The approach has to be long term strategic, not short term tactical. And part of that has to be make life more attractive in countries that will export large numbers. I am sure you agree that the huge reduction in UK aid last year is deeply regrettable. And that action on climate is of the highest priority

I agree. As I previously said, the Rwandan issue, which I don’t think will happen, is being introduced as a long term deterrent against illegal immigration and people smuggling.
Those totally against it don’t seem to have a solution, unless they are happy for the exploitation to continue

Making countries more attractive to stay in as in what exactly?

I doubt anything we do will halt the inevitable natural climate change, regardless of any human effect. On top of that, we will add to the problem and exhaust the world's resources quicker if we make poorer countries more developed.

The answer is for all First World countries to rewrite the book on migration so that international law protects its own citizens above migrants.
There are many places on Earth where migrants could go to start new settlements. What they want is to leach on to our societies and drain them dry, while having the cheek to tell us what racists and infidels we are at the same time.

The problem is that policy is being driven by the elites who could not care a hoot for the future of us plebeians.

The argument that says that part of a solution is to, ' And part of that has to be make life more attractive in countries that will export large numbers' isn't common sense.

The more you increase the standard of living in third world countries all you do in increase the numbers who can afford to emigrate....which will mainly be that country's middle class and is just a further brain drain....which again, works against improving that country.

Most logical people, who aren't basically pro immigration, who think through that line of logic would reach that conclusion.

I certainly agree that the west should help the third world and that actually has been happening over decades. Even though most of those countries have more than enough resources and human capital to be fully functioning without outside help.

However, it is not the responsibility of countries to do that, it is purely a humanitarian humanistic response.

I support that humanistic help, but not at the cost of giving away historical birth rights.....which this country has treated like confetti for decades....using the pyramid scheme of population increase

The answer to the immigration problem has always been the same. Robustly defended borders that deport people who shouldn't be here and so defeat the enemies that believe in the global village.

The conservatives have been in power for most of post war Britain and any Tory supporter who actually thinks that they want anything other than the global village just hasn't been really been taking note.

Kind of closing the door after the horse has bolted by about twenty to thirty years.
