Poor undercard....A lot of money flying around in boxing at the moment but that often results in boxers pricing themselves out to protect their records until a title opportunity arrives.

But that results in far less 50/50 fights for us.....perhaps the coming economic contradiction results in more serious match ups.

Yep. The ‘80s and before had boxers fighting each other and regular challenger fights. Now it’s about protecting that ‘0’. Yawn.

Whyte had several opportunities to get into Fury at the ropes but didn’t, including just before the uppercut knockout.

Hearn protecting Benn is a case in point.

He's an exciting fighter but Hearn wants to cheery pick his way to a title opportunity and give us the waffle during it.

Benn is in a stacked division, only casuals are fooled.

Obviously he had the silver spoon but the fact that Benn has already become a rich man from his fights even before he's beaten anyone in the top twenty shows you how weird boxing is right now.

It was a shocking performance really.....Five rounds and never really went for it.....seemed knackered even before he got caught.

I think Whyte knew that he couldn't win that fight before the first bell.

I knew he had his work massively cut out, but have to agree that he underperformed. In part though I think that's down to Fury's immense talent, which is still somewhat hard to fully appreciate due to him not exactly fitting the 'look' of a heavyweight, even though he's clearly extremely strong and physically fit.

I wonder if he'll have one more fight despite the retirement talk. If either Joshua or Usyk get aquick win and call him out, I wonder if he'll be able to refuse, and in a way it'll be a more fitting fight to end his career on. Can't see wither of them having a chance of beating him.

Yes, I'd love to see it.. The opportunity to unify the division too. I'm not convinced a love of the big fight goes just like that, but we'll see.

Another avenue is the Mayweather route (there's talk of Fury fighting UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou) though for me it cheapens the legacy a little when it's all about collecting the cash in novelty fights. I hope he either goes for a unification fight or calls it a day..
