Summary of top six in my opinion:

Man City - once a club to be admired. Sold out to billionaires and have bought hollow success. The epitome of everything that is now wrong with football.

Chelsea - similar to above (however, never a club to be admired) and followed by thugs with a racist element. Entitled.

Man United - a club who deserve to be at the top based on historic success, however the majority of their season ticket holders are not from Manchester which makes them glory hunters and a laughing stock. On my trips to Old Trafford in the past there are more United fans on the train then there are Palace.

Liverpool - again a club who are at the top on past merit, but their fans are trouble makers with a victim mentality. Consider themselves some kind of culture hero's when they're actually mostly chavs with a criminal element. Also a large percentage of glory hunters. Most Liverpudlians support Everton.

Arsenal - simply the worst fans in the Premier League (probably the whole of UK) who sit in silence and have two songs, which happen to be the dullest. Turn up and expect to be entertained.

Tottenham - no major beef other than them having 'Top 6' status.

Outside top 6, Newcastle soon to be added to the exact description as Man City.

Hard to argue with any of that, has inspired me to give it a go:

Man City - Once admired them purely for not being United. Have lost all identity as a football club as far as I'm concerned, a purely commercial identity now.

Chelsea - Similar to City but muggy team, vast majority of muggy fans, nothing admirable about them whatsoever. I sincerely hope things go t*ts up there.

Man United - The epitome of the glory-hunter's team. A fallen colossus as far as I'm concerned, I personally know a lot of their 'fans' who are no longer that interested in football, purely because their sole reason for following them is no longer applicable and they're reviewing life decisions.

Liverpool - Have created an almost siege mentality amongst themselves self-identifying as 'other' than the rest of the world. I'm content with that given I just consider them a bunch of scumbags and a magnet for such people. Fair share of glory-hunters there now too. Murdered their own fans and others and have a false romantic view of themselves.

Arsenal - The stereotypical 'it's cool to support Arsenal' team for me. Again, grew up surrounded by plenty of Arsenal 'fans' who saw it more as a fashion statement to wear an Arsenal top as opposed to evidence they'd ever even been to a match, which the vast majority had not. Their modern failings are hilarious and a source of personal joy for me.

Tottenham - I've no real beef with Tottenham, in fact I actually quite like them. Nothing so endearing in football as a team priding themselves on their ability to snap defeat from the jaws of victory amongst many other let-downs and failings. Subjective view as well but most Spurs fans I know I've actually got along with, especially in contrast to others on this list.

There's some consolation in knowing that of six sets of entitled (in Spurs' case it's hard to see why) fans five of them are going to be disappointed in every competition.

Hard to ague with any of that, except for the point Re: Man Utd.

Success begets Glory Hunters. The more Elongated the success the more Glory Hunters shall come. Elongated Success Surely is what all Teams strive for?
I dare say that there are plenty of Glory hunter Man city fans now purely based on their success over the past 6-8 years.

I used to love watching ManU at their pomp; Becks, Hughes, McClair, Robson, Giggs, Yorke and Cole etc etc, they were a great team to watch, who also won everything. No wonder so many people started to 'Support' them.

Man Utd fans now, can no longer be considered Glory Hunters. They may have been attracted by the glory, but if they're still travelliing 200miles for a home match, then fair do's. of course, there are those who dropped them like a stone after years of humiliation, there's always going to be. What's more likely is that they were kids when they started supporting them, who latch onto success.

Man Utd to me are a Fallen Giant. One to be admired and Scoffed at in equal measure; Everything you want to become, but hope you do not end up like.

The Summary of the top 6 could easily be a thread in itself -
At least I enjoyed it -

On the subject of Manchester United, I was a schoolboy at the time of the Munich disaster, and I was swept up in the emotion and grief that followed. When their decimated team lost to Bolton W. in the Cup Final three months later I was upset, even angry.

I hasten to add that I've got over all that! But I have a good friend, not quite as old as me, but a "real" football fan - a season ticket holder at Barnsley - who also supports United and will go to see them when he can get a ticket. It wasn't until recently that I asked him why the hell he supported them and he immediately said "because of Munich". There are probably still a few around who are motivated by that.

(He also said, btw, that he'll never forgive Moyes for getting rid of Zaha!)
