European place up for grabs??

Maybe I’ve misunderstood but isn’t there a place in a European competition awarded for success in the FA Cup?
In which case, as the other 3 semi finalists (Scousers/Citeh/Chelski) are 1,2 and 3 in Premier League and will all therefore go into the Champions League - what happens to the place awarded to FA Cup winners OR next available club, ie losing semi finalists ie Palace?! Surely that place should go to Palace?
No one seems to have mentioned this so perhaps I’ve got it wrong but I can’t see where. Anyone care to comment? Europe - here we come!!

Think there’s history to say it would go to a beaten finalist but otherwise I think it gets handed down the Premier League finish positions to 7 th , 8th or whatever.

God forbid, no.

As its stands we are not equipped for a load of extra midweek games in what ( to me anyway) is a bit of a tinpot competition.

In fact, it will be interesting to see how we cope with the extra midweek PL games that we have due to our cup run.

I'm thinking the same right now. However, a good transfer window and things could be different.

It used to go to the runner up of the FA Cup but that’s no longer the case. About 10 years ago they changed it and it no longer goes to the runner up but the next highest finish in the PL table

I think Millwall had a lot to do with that. They didn't play a PL team until the final lost 4-0 and didn't even have a shot on goal yet qualified for Europe.

I feel if we ever did get to Europe, it would ruin us if we took it seriously.

However, if we did, then the two domestic cups take a back seat... a few clubs have broken through then suffered as a result..
