Being touted as 25 mil. If we could maybe pay installments and add-ons would be worthwhile.

If we could all contribute some Nectar points maybe we could do the deal?

No way should we spend £25m plus high wages on a full back. We should be able to get quality full backs on both sides of the pitch for that money.

We need a striker, a winger, two full backs and two midfielders. If we sell Guehi or Olise or Eze then they will need replacing too, so wasting all our money on AWB would be folly in my book.

I've got to agree with you, despite the recent upturn in form, the reality is that the squad will need some serious refreshing this summer. We need a younger right back, competition for left back, probably 3 midfielders (replacements foe McArthur, Luka and Lokonga) a winger to replace Wilf and another striker.

We may have one or two youngsters that can fill in (e.g Rak-Sakyi) and we may get in a couple of loans, but it will still near a good spend this summer. Can't afford to spend £25 million and lots of wages a right back and leave gaps in the squad again.

I hope the board have learned. My main fear is that the recent revival and all the blame is put on Vieira and we once again spend all summer pursuing Wan-Bissaka and Gallagher.

To spend large amounts of money on Wan-Bissaka and then get in just a couple of promising youngsters as our summer window would be asking for trouble. I think we need to get at least 4 players in who are viable and decent options.

How much have we got?

That, as always, is the big unknown.

I'd say the same. Think he'd improve us no end and with the added athleticism to add to our attack we'd be a great team to watch. I love his swashbuckling fullback style.

Saying that I doubt United would entertain offers of 18m plus add ons for the 25m and realistically that's all we should really be offering.

AWB is the 6th most expensive full-back of all time. If he moves for £25m, he would be both the 6th and (approximately, depending on exchange rates) the 28th most expensive. Is he really THAT good?

We liked AWB.

He came in surprisingly and improved

It was enough for a big club to come in for him and we got a lot for him

It went wrong for him and/or he hasn't got it in him to have continued that level of improvement and he has declined.

We did well out of it, lets not resign him. Would rather we spent a lot less and took a bit of a risk on some young potential

Well, you keep hearing being in the PL is worth at least £100m a year, then you look at the saving of wages on players who are leaving, then you see where our ffp obligations leave us, then how much our investors are willing to throw in the pot and then finally, we maybe sell one of our ‘stars’ for circa £50m to help fund the team rebuild.

What this all adds up to, who knows. We are probably going to need at least 6 players so if you say an average of £12m per player then we are looking at a requirement of around £70m+

Just so it's clear, does his club want to sell, do we want to buy, and does he want to come back?

Ditto Gallagher.

I can't see either happening. More likely to fish in smaller ponds.

Do we need 3 new CMs? One at the very most surely. Luka and Jimmy Mac have barely played this season. For the 2 main positions we will still have Doucoure, Schlupp, Hughes and the recently signed Ahamada. Then we have Phillips and Ozoh coming through from the academy. Ozoh is still very young, but Phillips is a few years older, has played professionally in Ireland and is doing well on loan at Shrewsbury.
I can see him (and Rak Sakyi) being regular subs next season.
Then of course there is also Jairo.
So that's 7 players for 2 positions.

RB - with AWB's upturn in performances i suspect he may be out of our finances and i can't see a loan being an option. Incidentally he recently played his 100th league game for MU. Quite an achievement (and maybe a payment for us as part of the £5m add ons?). Hopefully Freedman has a plan as we used Clyne as a stop gap for 3 years now. I quite like Walker Peters at Southampton but he is a little small - a younger version of Clyne really.

LB - i quite like Jamal Lewis who went from Norwich to Newcastle. Has disappointed since and so a move will suit both parties. Maybe £5m with add ons might be sufficient to get him.
I remember he did quite well against Wilf a few years ago and would fit our system.
Not sure what's happened to Tayo Adaramola, but his progress seems to have stalled.

I think the other main position to fill is the Wilf LW one. There is no natural person for that position although Ayew, OE and Eze could fill in.
As we play 433/4241/4141 the 2 wide positions are critical.
If Everton go down i maybe Gray would be a decent cheap (ish) option.

I'm not so sure about that. There have been many times where we've failed to cash in on having one more player on the pitch than the opposition. Wembley 2016 for example.
