Good point. We can give him a decent send off and also say “goodbye” to Watford.

I think he'll secretly enjoy a thumping Palace win and will feel suitably humbled by a lively Selhurst 'adios and good luck'.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Every Palace player to get on the scoresheet, that should do the trick.

Probably be a lot of our fans hoping that happens if it means Hodgson goes - seems to still be uncertain either way but surely he won't stick around.

Never really won the support of our fans compared to Ranieri - don't if that is down to his personality or just because Roy managed you guys.

Didn’t know we were rivals Why get rid of Ranieri then? No disrespect to you Superhorns but your club needs a complete overhaul from top to bottom.
A loud rendering of “ his one of our own” should get the atmosphere going

Think you’ll find a few in the Palace squad will be bang up for this and see Roy off with a royal hammering - Wilf for one - get the impression there’s not much love lost in that relationship..!!

IMHO - Roy has an undeserved reputation of being a decent Manager - he is in fact a Manager with very limited in formations and style of play..!!

He proved that with both England and Palace..!!

Noticed yesterday when Watford’s fete of relegation confirmed - Ray Lew did the MOTD interview - Roy nowhere to be seen..!!

If memory serves me correct didn’t he do exactly the same thing after the Iceland debacle - resigned and tried to avoid doing any press interview on the basis he had resigned..!!

He also did the same for us in a game where we got hammered - can’t recall which one specifically.

Roy’s record at Watford is even worse than his predecessor Ranieri and Watford have gone down without a whimper.

There’s an argument that says that we under performed under Roy given the resources he had it his disposal due to his unwavering commitment to “Roy ball”..!,

Look I’m not saying don’t give him a great send off - he obviously deserves that - but I just think there a lot of “rose colored Roy glasses” about just how good he actually was..!!

I for one am so happy we now have Vieira and give Watford a royal hammering on Saturday.

Well only in the week leading up to the games I think - bit like when we play Bournemouth.

Pretend to really dislike each other for a bit.

I think any of our fans would agree with you there on the needing an overhaul comment.

A couple of seasons too many of changing managers and bringing in random players hoping they'd be a success but turn out not to be.

It's all got a bit complacent really and we haven't improved the team from when we went down last time but given out lots of contracts to older players.

"!Noticed yesterday when Watford’s fete of relegation confirmed - Ray Lew did the MOTD interview - Roy nowhere to be seen.."

TBF Roy was ill in the week and hadn't spoken to the media Pre match either.

Not that it would make much difference as our fans don't take kindly to what he says most of the time.

In fairness to Hodgson the away form bar one or two games hasn't been bad but there aren't 20k fans at those games whereas we've lost every home game since he came in and in many different ways!

As I said elsewhere most of the fingers are pointed at the board really - maybe the reason we've had 2 guy in their 70s as manager is because no-one with any great long term ambition wants the job for example as they'd get no time or spied on like hawks all the time?

I do think most of the players have tried generally but just not been good enough or the ones with more quality like Sarr been injured or out of form.

My impression was that Roy managed the relationship between Zaha and the club really well despite the former's clear desire to leave.
