Shock Horror, media create storm in teacup over something of little importance. We're all guilty of falling for clickbait whatever our political persuasion and I hate myself for it. It's funny though that the right-wing press are trying to defend a song written by self-declared socialists. Personally I think Lesley Gore's "It's my party" (and I'll cry if I want to) seems more fitting right now.

It's just a historical reference to the fact that the modern game started in England by the FA and they set up the original rules. Another example of the UK being made to feel they cannot promote any of their history or legacy without worrying about offending someone. The trouble is that there are too many people taking it upon themselves to protect others from being offended when in reality the people supposedly being protected wouldn't have taken offence in the first place.
