Zaha has that X factor and is a talisman for us

Although Eze and Olise are talented I think their are questions about their consistency / commitment

Would be a brave move to let him go but if he wants to challenge himself then we should not stand in his way.

The door I imagine will be open if it dosent pan out

Are there? Bit of an odd comment given that Zaha has tried to leave us the last three summers running.

I doubt Zaha will be going anywhere. As ever, his value to our team exceeds the sum any sensible club would pay to sign him.

That he only has one year left on his deal only makes his sale less likely - I doubt we'd get much above £20m, and his goals and assists are worth half of that in league placing payments alone. Plus how exactly could we hope to replace his influence with that sort of money? We pay that sort of dough for centre backs and holding midfielders these days - a ready-made goalscoring, match winning forward will be much more expensive, so it's not like we can aim to sell Zaha and replace him with the money we get.

I appreciate that this is the last chance to cash in, but he'll be determined to attract the attention of the biggest clubs, and so I'd expect him to be flying, which is ample compensation in the absence of a transfer fee.

The big question is whether he signs a new deal with us this time next year. We'll probably be competitive with even the big clubs when it comes to his wages, so it'll all turn on whether a big club, competing in the champions league, want him in their team as a first choice player or not.

This, to me, is the crux. WILL he be a 1st choice player in a 'top 6' team, i very much doubt it, we will see what pans out.

The top clubs strive for a level of consistency with their playing staff. Zaha is too inconsistent to feature at that level.

Very few players are that consistent. Raphina looks like he's joining Barcelona and he was inconsistent last season. Some games I barely noticed he was playing. What players like Wilf and Raphina have is the ability to win games out of nothing, Man Utd being the most recent example. There really aren't that many players that do that. Wilf drives me mad sometimes, but it's quite common for him to turn it on in the last 15 minutes and push hard for the win.

If Roma make a decent offer and he wants to go I think we have to let him leave out the front door with our thanks, but if he goes it will be a huge loss however annoying his theatrics might be at times.

Yep agree with that.

Whatever happens I hope it is amicable. I think Wilf pushing aggressively for one last hurrah and leaving a bad taste in the mouth would be as disappointing as him being coerced to stay at all costs and the relationship between club and player being damaged.

The ol' 'other clubs being interested in Wilf' is nothing new however still concerning. To be absolutely honest I think he'd really struggle with a move to a 'big team' such as Roma however I wouldn't begrudge him the opportunity. New window same old sh!te.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I think the 'what if' question might haunt him if he doesn't at least try as he has very publicly stated his ambitions. I'm in the camp that he can do it providing the manager backs him; however, Mourinho has a chequered history in terms of publicly backing players.

Raphinha different type of player and far better work rate also he is only 25 Wilf is 30 this year.

Wilfs stats only look good from last season due to all the pens he took otherwise he was poor again and his assists are terrible.

He won leave now anyway no one is interested and he has shown to be a person who needs extra treatment not many clubs do this plus I cant see him coping abroad unless he was at end of career going to say US.

You would expect this coming season he will put in best performance to get a nice new contract or he will hold out for some one to take him on a free but is he really worth 130+ per week nope.

I think any credibility you had went when you described Wilf’s goal against Norwich as a fluke.
Zaha’s work rate last season was far better than Raphina’s. How many times did Raphina win a tackle near his own penalty area? I wager less than Zaha’s.
So you have spoken to Jose have you, just to confirm he is not interested?
I realise you very rarely have anything positive to say about Palace and in particular Zaha, so people shouldn’t be surprised at your comments

Wilf is still our best player.

Offer him a 2 year extension with a pay rise. Why are people so worried about the wages? We paid Wickham £65k pew for years and he had loads of fans talking him up. We seemed to renew Paddy McCarthy for another couple of years. We even resigned AJ!

Wilf’s behaviour is pathetic sometimes and it looks like he will have that forever but he can win us games.

No, he isn't Eze is by far our best player, he is on another planet and as i have said before in 3/4 years he will be one of the best players in the world

Haha I've not heard of one player becoming one of the best in the world at 28, he's 24 if he was world class he would be one of the best in the world right now.
