seeing some recent posts on the MP3 thread, and not wanting to detract from the established protocol, please post your trivia/stories here. Really must be as authentic/trivial as possible.

Here's a starter, following the YES post on the MP3 thread.

The Album, Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, Howe was only self-titled as one of the other members of YES (Chris Squire) took legal action to prevent them using the band name.
I met Rick Wakeman in the 1990's as Camberley Civic Hall after a solo gig. Seemed a pleasant enough chap and had his son Adam with him on stage. Adam is a friend of a girl Charlotte who i used to go to University with. I still retain the thought that Rick Wakeman really is totally up his own @r5e.

I went with a friend to Bob Dylan's concert at the Albert Hall in 1966. We arrived early and headed to a bar for a pre-concert livener only to find Mick Jagger and Keith Richards there also enjoying a drink or two.

My chum was a smoker and, after a while, Jagger came over and asked him for a light. All seemed a bit surreal and, to this day, I've no idea why he didn't have his own matches!

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I met and shook hands with Rick Wakeman after his gig with Jon Anderson at the Hawth in Crawley.
Came across as a really nice guy. Seemed genuinely interested in chatting with the fans. Had time for everyone.

You asked for trivia ... then may I say I saw David Bowie on Victoria Station in 1969. I was probably one of a fairly small minority on the station that day who would have known who he was. I would like to be able to say I engaged him in conversation and what a jolly good chap he was, but I didn't.

I am also pretty sure I saw him playing in a group called the Konrads in the Beckenham area around 63/64.

Pete53, a true highlight, compared to this post.
I awoke on Sunday morning at Glastonbury 1993, rudely awoken by "Who's the c-unit playing the guitar at this ungodly hour ?"

The Lemonheads had played the pyramid stage the previous night, and Evan Dando (lead singer) was standing on top of my mates van giving an impromptu karaoke session. Gave at least 40 minutes of his time, which was nice.

Bumped into a couple in Mayfair back in the 60’s. None of us looking where we were going.
It was John Lennon and Yoko.
She was a right sour puss, but John was very apologetic and friendly.

About 6 years ago I saw Steve Hackett ( Genesis ) at the Wharf on Tavistock. It was a warmup for the Royal Albert Hall a few weeks later. Great concert.
So wife and self decided to see Steve Howe ( Yes ) at the same venue expecting the same but he was rubbish.

A few weeks later, we saw Oliver Wakeman and Gordon Giltrap at the Wharf. After the concert, I was talking with Oliver and told him of my experience with Steve Hackett and then Steve Howe and how Mr Howe was crap.

I didn't know at the time that Oliver was good friends with Mr Howe and both had recently completed a world tour with Yes with Oliver on keyboards instead of his dad. Oliver didn't say anything but probably thought I as a right duckhead.

Some really good tribute bands at the Wharf and the occasional original.

Very likely you did Pete. This record by the Konrads was released on CBS in 1965.

And, of course, Bowie famously helped organise a music festival on Beckenham Grandstand in 1969.

bumped into lemmy on several occassions(bars) at the old dingwalls, camden lock & the wardour st Marquee club.
My friends still quote him to this day, trying to attract bar staff, to get drinks, shouting ' Nurse ! Nurse !'

When I used to sell merchandise out of the now long gone Nevada Smiths pub on 3rd Ave, Bowie would often walk past the bar (guessing to get tea or Coffee) on a Sunday morning & me & the doorman Chris ( QPR Fan) would often exchange greetings.
In one of the other bars I worked in barely a week would go by without someone famous popping in for a drink.

I was lucky to see Bon Scott (ACDC) in November 79 at the Hammersmith Odeon, 3 months before he died, was the best gig i ever saw, i was 14 and it was my first gig.
