I’m afraid not the first time Eco, it’s a long running saga!

I’m no longer of a disposition to hurl any insult or ‘blow my lid’ etc however in the darker days when hope was limited I did find it infuriating and occasionally breach forum rules which is not excusable but occasionally understandable.

There could be a variety of reasons for this character posting as they do, some of which may well not be something appropriate to dig at or all the way to there actually being some truth in which instance I would question why posts aren’t presented with a bit more of a social (context) barometer being utilised… there may also be an explanation for that in which case fair enough.

In any instance, there are people actually paid by major organisations to promote anything with only a snifter of truth so whilst it may seem completely appropriate to direct ire at said individuals, it is probably worth your own application of ‘a pinch of salt’… if not the whole shaker! For your own sake of course not anybody else’s.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Perhaps Dazza was posting in good faith merely trying to be informative by posting information he had perused on various media outlets or news that had been forwarded to him.
He did assert that he was not 'In the know' and was merely passing on information.

Of course a number of potential transfers he highlighted did not come to fruition but in the world of transfers there can be more twists and turns than in an Isle of Man TT race.
Nonetheless, some of the so called potential transfers and the fees we were supposedly prepared to pay were far removed from reality.

That’s a pretty long winded way of saying he made stuff up based on media stories, which is no assistance to anyone other than for those who feel the need to seek information before it is made official.

It’s a perfect scenario for leg pullers. If it comes off you are a hero, if it doesn’t you just shrug your shoulders and say, I guess they couldn’t make it happen. It’s a win win for the poster, but anyone with a genuine respected source would have known nothing was likely to happen this window.

Doesn't mean anything.

Roy went for years without any proper investment.

If we can’t scrape together £10m-£15m for a position where we desperately needed someone then we are either in a poor state or our owners want a bit more pie themselves than they are letting on.

Not many players costing that price anymore which are an improvement and if they are good other clubs will get them ahead of us.

SP never digs into own wallet we know this and the American have no interest in spending for player squad plus you need to meat FFP but it sounded like if rumors was true we had 30m to spend.

The club may be thinking long term Wilf will be living may need the funds to replace him.

I can remember a time when SP would be on media the day afterwards commenting on the transfer window.

So far the silence from the club is deafening.

I guess they know they haven't achieved the minimum required for the club to progress.

Still it's what we have. Think we have to hope that McArthur gets back to fitness soon and stays fit all season, Richards turns out to be great cover across the back 4, Ebiowei gets a few chances and takes them, one of the front 2 starts scoring regularly and none of Zaha, Doucoure or Mitchell get injured.

If all of them happen we may finish top 10. If all of those go wrong we are probably bottom 3.

Nothing to do with what you have said Palace have always been selective and SP at times its to stroke his on ego.

The club is terrible wen it comes to media related stuff and its strange because the club pays SP company millions for this.

We did spend some money that is one positive.

Bottom 3 you are joking right come on a few players went its not as if half the squad had gone.

I have to disagree with you about Edouard and IMO doesn’t give his all and is lazy plus technically questionable.

You are an idiot IMO.

The guy has high work rate he is the one doing the closing down while Wilf walks around.

The window has to be seen as largely a failure.
If success is deemed as achieving your targets, we largely do not seem to have done this.
Moves for Downes and Edwards failed, regardless of whether you think they would have been good additions.
We did not get Gallagher, Sarr, AWB or another central midfield player.
There may be very good reasons for why these moves didn't happen, but the fact is we didn't get out targets and are arguably have a weaker squad than last season in the absence of Gallagher, Kouyate and Benteke.
At the beginning of this season we had also factored in the return of McArthur to the squad.
Vieira said yesterday there is no return for either player even to the training ground.
It seems to me that this window followed the pattern of many previous seasons, with last season's successful one very much the exception.
Yes we have stayed up and maybe that's enough, but there is an opportunity to move forward as we have some excellent young players.

This should read we did not get another midfielder other than Doucoure and Vieira was saying neither McArthur nor Ferguson show any sign of a return.

How do you even know the club was interested in trying to get any of those because the media said so or another poster here may have claimed it?

another drama queen and people say I am negative.

Not getting in a loan not good but why pay out millions just for a loan when the money can be saved and used later on.

I posted this before Wilf will be leaving next year we need all the money to replace him.

The other thing its as people here think we didnt sign any one we did sign a few players only 1 will walk into first team currently.

The club doesnt have much money to play with while we have reduced wages a bit we are still using close to 90% of tv money on wages alone.

Unless we have new owners come in give the club a loan we will continue this way and being mid table team isnt to bad.

Exactly, why people even remotely give him the time of day is beyond me.

It was his monumental fail in the 2020 transfer window when saying our signings of Benrahma & Rhian Brewster were set to be announced, followed by the ‘Meet Our New Manager - Frank Lampard’ Thread that finally sealed it for me!

How do you know we weren't in for Sarr Gallagher or AWB?
The wider point I was making is that we didn't get targets in.
Vieira has stated on a number of occasions in recent weeks that the squad was light and that he required a different profile of player.
That has not been achieved.
I don't think it's good to go into Premier League games with two goalkeepers on the bench and with Schlupp as an automatic starter in central midfield. If that makes me a drama queen so be it.
