May mean nothing, but Palace did supposedly offer him a one year deal when he was seeking two years.
Perhaps a deal is not yet dead, or the number 8 is being left free for another midfielder who will be joining.
Personally I would be happy for Kouyate to sign.
He offers us a physical presence and competitive streak that we will lack without him or a player with similar attributes.
Although not the best passer, his other qualities provide balance to the team in particular against the better teams where we have to fight for possession.
