Braverman, Badenoch and Truss seem the most actually conservative.

Out of those three, Truss seems as dim as a bag of bricks.

Yup but wishes don't make it happen. Hunt is a flawed candidate hated by people in the NHS he was never going to win largely because the party could see that the neutral voters would not want him.

None of the remaining candidates fill me with any hope so its the best of a bad bunch.

Not by the people I know in the NHS. He is much admired for his time as Health Secretary, as the only one in recent times who actually understood their problems. Neutral voters would much prefer a centralist like Hunt. It's the Tory faithful in the shires who don't. Which is one of the reasons this should be left to the MPs.

Compared to Braverman, Truss appears to have the intellect of Einstein. Braverman makes me shudder whenever I hear her pontificate. She has a nasty core to her.

There you go again just like your mate Edmund Burke you don't trust the voters and would prefer it left up to the elite establishment who know best.

Well, Braverman has a master's degree in European and French law and was a lawyer who then served as the Attorney General in government.

For Liz Truss I can only find that she took a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics...I haven't found what the grade was.

So as usual I can only question your judgement.

Should Penny Mordaunt reach the final two, she will wear the crown as she is vastly favoured by the Conservative membership.
Whether her name goes forward to the members for consideration is open to question.

Everybody tipping Penny Moribund to win the PM job. After listening to her speech yesterday expect her to drag the country kicking and screaming back to 1980.What a depressing bunch of candidates for the top job, as if Johnson wasn't bad enough..

I've never thought of Truss as dim, but if she consented to Mogg and Dorries fronting her campaign on TV the other evening, she sure must be lacking in judgment. With friend like that..............

Yep, she is essentially the biggest WEF puppet there....Bill Gates wrote the foreword to her book, where she uses all the buzzwords of the left....she's another social liberal.

The blue rinser membership are suckers for anyone who physically looks half decent.....How anyone could have chosen Cameron over Davies still amazes me....and hearing that they think Penny 'swimsuit' Mordaunt is the best candidate just continues that amazement.

David Davis is supporting Mordaunt.

As things stand right now I've come to the conclusion that Mordaunt is the best candidate. But, what blurs it slightly for me is her wokeist tendencies. Far from dragging us back to the 1980s as nettletoneagle suggests, she does try too hard to appeal to minority factions. At least she doesn't have a Willy.

She has a broad range of experience and seems, so far at least, to have put forward some reasonable thoughts about what she would like to change such as, among other things, splitting up the Treasury and breaking up top heavy departments.

Looks like she may well be in the final shootout with Sunak who, to my mind, looks and sounds far too polished and insincere to be in it for the good of the country.

None of the candidates will hold a candle to Boris when it comes to dealing with questions in the Commons. He was very good yesterday even if it will be his last PMQ.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.
