Couple of good players following Hickey originally at Hearts now at Brentford via Bologna.

Lewis Ferguson of Aberdeen also looks to be going Bologna
Josh Doig from Hibs going to Verona

Interesting that Italian teams able to spot bargains up the road

Its interesting to see the effects of the premier league on other countries. The need for success, the insatiable appetite for foreign imports and the consequential lack of opportunities for young British players (relatively) means other leagues that can't compete with Premier league money are turning to British leagues. They are able to provide opportunities to young talented players without the stress and scrutiny of the Premiership. German clubs are doing the same.

True, Germany seem to be willing to give youngsters an opportunity earlier and is a good counter measure to the premier leagues clout in the transfer market

Ferguson is similar to McGinn at Villa and Doig could end up following Hickey by earning a move to premier via Italy. Pretty good place to learn the art of defence
