I have to say it was great that it was fun. It was great fun.
Surely, that's what football should be? Like when you played with your mates at lunch time.

The fun seems to have been sucked out of us in the Premier League and England men in favour of some kind of process.
It reminds me of the fun days at Selhurst, not expecting anything in Division 2. Every so often some character would shout out a joke between the choruses of "Eagles, Eagles", and you could often hear it and have a few laughs. Someone would do something ridiculous on the pitch - that you would unlikely ever see now except at non league, and again a great laugh. Everyone's all serious now. Still wanted to win but didn't have the expectations perhaps.

I even wonder do the youngsters/kids have fun as everyone takes it all so seriously these days? These England girls though - really look like they're having a good time. Who couldn't love that? This is a massive story and a shift in football. I watched some of the last women's world cup and didn't think it was any good. I watched England in this and could relate to it. Perhaps it's because they don't get 250k a week, I honestly don't know why, but they've won me over anyway.

That's the problem there isn't a demand for it, tho sky will keep pushing it, it'll be subsidised by the man's game and sponsorship from woke company's in the name of equality, this will last a few years untill woke company realises the losses on the women's game would be better spent in shareholders profits. They will slowly pull out and sky's interest will slowly decline. Its like purring a southern area title fight on ppv, pointless as people are just not interested.

Firstly, and most importantly, Very well done to the Lionesses. very proud of them and their performance. What a result.

But, I would like to point out that even in spite of a tremendous acheivement in a most enjoyable game, which was much better than many people expected..... Football has NOT 'Come home'.

Germany were marginally the better team and lost by a whisker.

Not once in the aftermath were they even mentioned they disappeared into thin air.

We won it is great, and we are excited, but this is sport.

I like to think of the Womens team being a completely separate Entity to the Mens. In fact they deserve to be. Don't Tarnish them with the same habitual-failures brush that the Men have made their own. They have matured and grown into World Beaters over the course of the last 20 or so years, challenging the likes of Sweden and Germany, who have been there for a lot longer than them.

So to use a song like The Three lions - a song specifically referencing the past glories and subsequent failures of the Mens game felt a bit wierd.

Well…I’m ready to get battered on this one…brilliant achievement by the Lions..well done.

BUT in my opinion..the commentators were totally over the top. Everything the Lions did was “brilliant”, “amazing”, “world class”.

I was sitting there thinking to myself… really? How was that world class?

The goalkeeper made an amazing save…really? How was catching the ball from a corner amazing?

I’m really delighted for the team, but the bottom line is most Sunday league teams would easily win against them.

Let’s not get too carried away…
