Pointless games, just a money-making exercise from Palace 'fans' in Australia (who like 'Doc Brown' we didn't hear too much from when we were in the Championship).
Why arrange games against LiVARpool and Moan Utd and then take barely a scratch team ?

Silly comments S'windy! You joined the site in 2020. Does that mean you weren't a fan when we were in the Championship?

Of course, it's a money making exercise. We need to raise our profile and it is a shame I won't see Wilf live again before he leaves / retires. But I will shout myself hoarse at the Optus Stadium this Friday and embarrass the s*** out of my girlfriend.

(TBF the Leeds Utd fans are the only ones that scare me, but I am sure they'll be a friendly bunch on Friday)

So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet.

I for one am glad that we split the squad and gave so many youngsters a chance to play. Would like to see Adamarola and Ebiowei both in the first team squad. Think Ebiowei has a bit more to him than Plange.

We need to move Edouard, Benteke and Ayew on. All on good wages and not up to the Premier League. Ayew a liability today, loses the ball dribbling or passing it poorly, drops his shoulders and shuffles around waiting for someone else to get it back. The game is too fast for Edouard - Scottish Premier League is his standard. Benteke I guess will play this evening - looked alright against Ipswich U23s - again, the right level for him.

Matthews today very poor - cannot kick for toffee, but 4th string so not too worried.

Very lightweight in midfield today, would like to see another tackler in alongside Doucoure.

You are glad we have had probably the most disjointed pre-season imaginable, which almost guarantees a slow start? Watching Luka hobble around with a bunch of kids, 90% of which will never make a competitive start for the club?...madness

I'm all for giving youth a chance, but not at the expense of our first team. We also don't need a ridiculous tour to see some of hte kids play. If they are good enough they will progress.

Adamarola was already in and around the first team last season.

And we aren't signing Ebiowei and Plange to stick them in the reserves. More likely that we are not confident in our own kids stepping up so we'll buy some in that are already superior.

I went to the match and thoroughly enjoyed it. To be honest it could have been put on by the United marketing team from the light show to the ref. We found our way down to the Palace lot and they seemed to be out singing the United fans despite being outnumbered about 20 to 1 especially when the kids came on and made a game of it. If any youngster came away from that a converted Palace fan it will be due to the kids or the fans.

Great that supporters down there got this chance to see any sort of Palace outfit, but for fans back here , the fact that it took the kids to make a game of it, calls the whole excise into question.
It’s a bit embarrassing to hear commentators refer to that Palace team as Premier opposition to an almost full strength United, side ,it should have been , but was at best a B team merely there to tickle the egos of 75,000 United fans, I have to ask how does this improve our profile to the uninitiated down there. And world wide .But glad you all enjoyed the big game atmosphere . And yes our young players are really good and well worth watching.

You've certainly p...d off a few of us Australian based 'fans' Swindy. Not a good idea to question our passion and devotion to Palace and there's more real fans out here than you think.

Certainly met bloody heaps in the pubs and the training session leading up to the game. Not my fault I can't attend games every week. It was terrific to see Palace in the flesh.

I'm Aussie born but I remember David Swindlehurst heading goals and Peter Taylor flying up the wings, so I'm fair dinkum Palace. Please don't call me a 'fan'.

I also went last night and wish all of the UK based fans I met in the last week all of the best in Perth and their trip home. Safe trip home to the Aussie based fans I met too.

Very impressed with our kids, Ebiowei in particular, nice foot work and took on the defenders. Our Under 23s beat United U23s 1-0 (should have been 2-0 but for a rugby tackle on the edge of the box) and that's how I saw it. I certainly enjoyed the goal and got a few smiles from those in Red around me.

Thanks CPFC and fans for a great few days, just bring a better team next time.
