There is NO new offside *ahem* rule(law), it is a well known glitch in VAR, for not knowing WHEN the ball is played.

I don't get why they don't formally introduce a margin for error. If the two lines are deemed to be within 10cm (or even 20cm) of each other, then this falls within the margin of error. The attacker is then given the benefit of the doubt. The Edouard situation on Saturday looked even closer than the Rashford one highlighted in the article. It seems there was no "tolerance" or "benefit of the doubt" given to Edouard. Why not just accept that this "line drawing" is presently a bit subjective and build in a margin for error?
