I appreciate that I have a reputation as being an 'Elijah of doom', but this season I have been far more persistent and strident in my assertions.

Youve not got a clue what you're talking about, anything to do with discussing actual game and football you're clueless, just stick to playing a silly little character you've made up online and copying and pasting from players Wikipedia and pretending it's from discussions with someone in the game or overheard from a couple of gentlemen speaking on Brighton beach. You speak complete bollocks.

According to the BBC we had 9 shots on target to their 6.
Doesn't sound like it!

That doesn't reflect the game as a whole. We had two 10 minute spells where we looked in the ascendency but aside from that it was a bit like Dresden with balls being dropped in on the defence. I think about 4 or 5 of our shots on goal were pretty tame too. Also, wait for Shearer's tears on MOTD about the disallowed goal. Scrappy game, but I do think they edged it.

Time to change things around. Put zaha CF, with ayew playing behind him. Eze on yhe left, olise on the right. Forget the 2 center forwards, both useless.

No, really hard work and well won point. Toon did not deserve the win.

Plenty to complain about but they are a good team at home with squad depth. We did well.

It was good to enjoy a bit of VAR luck. But how on earth is Schlupp occupying a place in midfield. Newcastle just ran thru it, even if Doucoure (again) had a good game.
Can't wait for some changes for the next game and feel good keeping it 0-0. But it was not pretty. I think the team has gone backwards from last season.

A bloody stressful game to watch. Certainly not at our slickest but I'm pleased that the back 4 and Guaita got the point they deserved for their hard work.

Our subs eased the pressure on us a little but I would have liked to see Hughes come on to add a little more industry. Schlupp and Eze fairly anonymous today, can't afford to have that in the premier league.

Ayew constantly gets slagged off, and I get that he's not our most exciting player, but he put in one hell of a shift and helped relieve the pressure on us by winning fouls. He managed to get himself a lot more involved than any other attacker today.

12 games to identify a proper partner for Doucouré... who I thought was again excellent today.

Valuable point... and well done VAR!!! No idea how they disallowed that goal!

With respect, apropos your final comment it is a case of "Pot,Kettle and Black".

Your assertions and accusations are total and utter hogwash and way off the beam.
One supposes you have concluded that I am NOT a supporter of the club and NOT of advanced years - I have been an avid supporter since the 60s and God willing will reach the ripe age of 70 in November.

You may continue to hurl bile, but I will simply NOT respond, thereby denying the minestrone of nonsense the 'Oxygen of publicity'.

Ayew, Doucouré, Guehi and Guiata worked hard and earned us what was a bit of a fortunate point. Olise looked good when he came on. Wilf went back to looking disinterested (although he was constantly tripped, stepped on, pulled and pushed with little from the ref), Eze totally off his game. If Newcastle had more quality they would have won that. As it was they looked like a £150 million Burnley with long balls, set-pieces and balls flung into the box. That will be effective though against many teams, especially when they don't have to play the diving midget. As for us we need more fight in games like this as Ayew and Cheikh can't do it alone in midfield.

Without meaning to prolong the moaning of the transfer window... this is precisely why we needed another, more industrious midfielder. Eze and Doucouré won't act as a replace for Kouyate and Gallagher for each and every game. We need options.

All in all, I thought we did ok. Nick Pope made some good saves, it's not like we didn't offer any threat. I realise Newcastle have only won one game, but they're a good side, especially at home. We were fortunate they didn't have some of their stars. And despite the good work Eddie Howe has done, I would be surprised if they don't spend big in January.

Good result against the richest club in the world.

Points away at Liverpool and Newcastle, 2 up at City. We can't be that bad! Clearly we're tough to beat.

The stats I saw mid game reflected something like that. We had quite a lively patch around 15/20 mins, and second half we were way up on the 'ten minute' possession when Olise came on.

Admittedly, some of our shots were quite tame, but they definitely existed!

They did hit the bar (post..?) and had an OG disallowed, so their best chances slipped past the 'on target' measure.
