They don't get anyone in their changing rooms! They might get transgendered women in some shared spaces, but not in the personal ones.

The real crux of the matter is the thinking that someone who has transgendered hasn't actually changed.

Once again anyone who has completely transgendered can go where they like but before they have they should stick to their own changing rooms regardless of how they feel. Why is that contentious?

Because men were misbehaving. Nothing at all to do with transgenders.

Finding a way that stops misbehaviour whilst not disadvantaging others makes sense.

I anticipate everyone will be happy with this.

Because any physical changes are nothing like as important as the emotional ones. When your head says you are a female but, your body is at odds with that, why should anyone force them to deny it? Most never change physically. They don’t feel the need to do so. That doesn’t mean they are any less transgender!

And what about the women's emotions?

There is understanding and freedom for those that don't fit stereotypes. There are significant differences on what that looks like. That was already the case in the eighties when I was growing up.

In my very strongly held view there needs to be strong protection for the young and vulnerable.....and that hasn't happened for decades.

There we have it, in all its subjective, prejudiced glory.

Degeneracy is defined by the OED as "moral standards that have fallen to a level that is very low and unacceptable to most people."

To believe that those who discover that they have been born into the wrong body are degenerate is to demonstrate a complete misapplication of the term.

To believe that transgenders lack moral standards is to demonstrate total ignorance of them.

These people are not indulging in anti-moral behaviour. They aren't paedophiles, wife-swappers or exhibitionists. That anyone classifies them in the same way, is pretty obnoxious and demonstrates a much lower morality than anything a transgender is likely to do.

To then go on and make a remark about the need to protect the young and vulnerable, when everyone believes that to be necessary, including the transgender community, simply attempts to add a further smear.

Sometimes the level of irrational, unrealistic prejudice to be found in these pages surprises even me. I know some still hold to Victorian values, but these are back to almost the stone age in their thinking.

Absolutely agree.

For me there is a very important distinction between looking at any circumstance and doing what is objectively best for the individual(s) and society or caving into every notion, based under a guise of social freedom or 'progressiveness' (ludicrous), which will often be hijacked by those whose ends are entirely selfish, anti-social, completely logic defying or anything more macabre. Those who ignorantly but willingly go along with people who fall into this category are just as culpable in my eyes... 'I was just doing my job'.

For me, allowing some sort of transgender movement which seeks to secure a place in legislation carte blanche and even at the expense of the rest of society based solely on subjective (and often nuts) opinions and aforementioned intents is as ludicrous as completely demonising alongside Soviet/Nazi style purging or persecution of any group within society.

The lack of 'common sense' approaches to just about everything these days is far more worrying for me than the outcomes themselves.

I agree with that, and so would my transgender grandchild. They don't want political activism. They just seek understanding, tolerance and education.

Someone who has transgendered to become female is a woman. She was always a woman.

All women's emotions matter.

So does the need to educate some of them about some of the others.

What Primark seem to be doing is gently allow things to change whilst ensuring those who still feel uncomfortable are reassured. No-one wants male predators upsetting women any more that I want to see my own grandchild being forced into male only areas dressed as they now do.

How do you know they don't have any of those traits? Not because they're transgender but because they're human beings so just as susceptible and flawed as anyone else. Gender dimorphism doesn't elevate anyone to a higher moral plane.

Pretty rich from someone who claims to avoid getting changed in the presence of strangers. Maybe some education would help.

Of course.

So long as no attempt to classify them all in that category, I am quite sure they would accept that the same proportion as the rest of society are likely to be flawed in some way.

Getting that accepted would be seen as a major breakthrough.

I use separate cubicles and would fiercely argue that they should always be available to everyone, whatever their sex. I like my privacy and understand why others do.
