Nice summary. We weren't that bad in the first half but got a little lucky Wolves didn't put their chances away. PV did well to change the tactics by switching Eze and Zaha. So big credit their.

Ward and Doucouré treading a tightrope on a yellow and our lack of depth meant we didn't really have adequate replacements. Saying that I thought Doucouré had a great game. If we can add 2/3 good additions in January we could have a decent season...if we don't it'll be quite tight.

Overall a vast improvement on the Leicester game and a great 3 points.

COYP

I thought that was his best game so far.

He's going to get a red card at some point though!

The key for me was the tactical change and step up of urgency in the second half.
Zaha played closer to Edouard and was not restricted to the left hand side, and we played with more zip and pace.
This enabled Eze and Olise to get more involved in wide areas and in space to create opportunities.
It wouldn't be something for every game as we can look exposed in midfield, but it definitely worked today.

That's a good win.

My own two pence worth...

As it has been since he first set foot in the place, Selhurst is Wilf's house. He does whatever he likes here. Whether he's doing some of it for us or him is irrelevant if we do well out of it, and in any case, very few have his sense of belonging and ownership. His mindset has always been his key asset.

Across last season it became obvious firstly that Anderson and Guehi were very good footballers but average defenders, and secondly that having invested so much in them, they would be picked every week regardless. We needed them to learn to defend properly. They are making notable progress on that front. Clearing things they were mucking about with before, winning headers, getting their bodies in ahead of attackers. They will have days when thier quality on the ball stands out, but they are getting better and better at their main purpose.

Doucoure gets better and better. He's not spectacular, he's only small, but if he continues his current rate of development he'll be a bargain.

The beauty of the winning goal was Edouard making a selfless, well timed run in behind. I'm not even sure Eze was looking for him with the pass but it doesn't matter, the point is that he led the line, which is what he's been missing. If he can continue to do that, he'll play more than not, and we'll get our moneys worth from a talented player.

Agree with this. Zaha can frustrate the hell out of everyone such as the leicester game, but you can't take this out of him or he will be half the player. he was brilliant in the second half and lifted the team around him.

As for MOM, yes everyone will say eze, Zaha or olise, but for me it was Doucoure, he ran the midfield with an all round performance, and he deserved his effort to go in as this is something he is capable of doing too.

I hope the team move on from this knowing that if they could just put a solid 90 minutes together then Everton or Southampton could be in for a tough time.

I enjoyed tonight, atmosphere took time to build(I blame the ref!) but second half was back to its best after the relief of the first goal.

As PV keeps saying about things, we were quite really good tonight.
If we can keep building on that second half spell like when Edouard nearly scored the goal of the season then we will become Really really good.
I was very happy with all the team tonight and the result.
A third goal was coming and would have been nice to calm the nerves, but we got there anyway.
Wooosh.

And in the second half Wilf was outstanding.

That second half we went through the gears and our passing and movement was much better. Just about deserved it, but my god we need some incoming players in the New Year…

worryingly lethargic in the first half. More so after the Leicester game. I expected us to shoot out the blocks, but were slow to pass, and wolves cut out many attempted passes in promising positions. Had Plenty Of possession, but were sloppy with the ball, and missing challenges without it. Wolves should have been 3 up at half time.

2nd half was like they all snorted a months supply of charlie and came out flying round the pitch. Desire and determination was rife and we simply Overran them. Would have loved to be a fly on the wall in that changing room at half time.

Wilf, Eze and Doucoure led by example... some of the tackles Doucoure put in in the 2nd half were unbeleivable.
2 great goals, and one almost goal of the season!
Subs were good - MO was tiring, and starting to lose a lot of the battles on his wing. Fresh Legs and running was needed.
rode our luck a little at the end, but all in, a good 3 points... but we need to learn to play in the first half of matches.

COYP!

Awful first half needed to come out firing and boy did we (septic accent)!

The experience that is football, agony to bliss in 45+ minutes.

Massive and needed win that, COYP!!!!!!!!!!!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

People keep blaming Olise for the cross that led to Wolves lone goal but that looked like prime Joel Ward territory to me. He was lost in the middle of the pitch.

Anyway , Really enjoyed that even the first half even if we did get caught on the counter a couple of times .
We have some really talented young players who will only get better ,the mistakes will become less and the news channel can wait till the games finished

And we still need a striker
