Agree with both the last two posts (AS/EDN).

I guess one factor in all of this is of course the more looming than ever threat of a no-Wilf Palace, whether that be via decline or departure. That’s a special kind of anxiety on top of my already prominent Palace related worry.

Personally, I’d like to see someone brought in who everyone else being fit would be competing for a starting place at the very least and capable of filling the void post Wilf. I’d then like to see perhaps JRS/Malcolm etc being brought on occasionally if not both.

Given three wishes however, I’d probably go Central midfielder to compliment Doucoure (massive fan of his), a RB, then perhaps a Centre forward or winger if funds and the market allows.

My hope is that we don’t bring in more stocking fillers (seasonal analogy there) to the squad. ASCPFC said something about championship level players which I feel is harsh and IMHO I would refer to them more as ‘squad players’. I don’t want Benteke/Sakho-esque marquee signings who end up just draining funds but a few players to boost and improve the team would be nice as opposed to just making up numbers. It’s probably fair to say there was a need for that at one point however nightmares of Peter Taylor style of a deadwood squad come haunting!

Yeah it’s not an outlandish idea at all.

I think it’s fair to say that if we were safe by a fair distance, out of cups and not playing for much beyond a few positions I’d be disappointed not to see either feature.

As I really can’t be bothered with the cup today, watching the Clowns in league 1 on Sky. Rak-Sakyi has so much more talent than anyone else on the pitch it’s a joke.

JRS is easy to knock off the ball the talent is there he needs to beef up.

Miles Leaburn (young striker son of Carl) came on for them, on their forum they have been worried that we will be nicking him. I have not seen us linked to Leaburn anywhere except the Charlton forum from what I saw today he is young and very raw I can't see that we would be interested.

As for the quality of football, well Bolton are promotion contenders but both sides it was kick and rush.

One more point

What you say is largely true. Sending youngsters out on loan is usually the door to the departure lounge. However, we can only hope that occasionally there may be an exception to this.

I did not witness the Charlton game yesterday but I understand that Mark Bright was going to the match.

From all accounts Rak-Sakyi is performing with some aplomb and is popular with the Charlton supporters.
