Woman arrested for silent prayer, god save us

This is a sign of the times unfortunately. Whether you believe it or not we have slowly crept towards, if we haven’t already arrived at, an Orwellian nightmare. A ‘silent prayer’ would of course constitute a thought crime. That is to say you are literally indulging in a practice of thought that is not in alignment with what the powers that be have determined to be correct/acceptable. I do love the assertion that ‘rights are not in any way being repressed. The rights of others are being protected.’ As though some ubiquitous and categorical definition of ‘rights’ exist. Your ‘rights’ are only those which the state determine for you. In our dystopia that means you cannot think to yourself near a building they want to desperately protect and you will be arrested for daring to do so, however were you to be burgled or the victim of another universally recognised crime, this would fall well down the priority list for ‘police’ work. They are now a thought police and any mere notion they represent a traditional ideal of a police force is quite frankly absurd and objectively incorrect.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Only those feeling intimidated can possibly know whether anyone doing anything is responsible for it. That the person standing silently doesn’t believe it intimidates is irrelevant. It’s the job of the authorities to try to ensure those wishing to use any legally permitted facilities can do so freely and without fear.

People should not be held responsible for how other people happen to feel or pretend to feel.

It’s not the prayer that’s the issue here. It’s where the person is standing that is. Choose any one of a million other places and there would not be a problem. That’s why no rights are being repressed if indeed the right being claimed is the right to silent prayer. If though the right being claimed is a right to silently pray wherever they want, even if in so doing they trample on another right then it is, correctly in my opinion, being repressed. It seems completely unrelated to me, especially as a man using a space reserved for women would certainly attract police attention if someone complained. You are trying to reopen the trans debate which has no connection to this at all.

You cannot equate silent prayer to a protest, that is a perversion of law and quite literally an enforcement of thought crime. I’m not condoning nor backing this women but it is a fine example of just how ideologically ruled we are and how incompetent, possibly nefarious and almost definitely bereft of intelligence both the law makers and enforcers are.
