There have been a plethora of threads questioning the managerial credentials of Vieira and doubting his ability.

At Nice he enjoyed a positive first season but was dismissed in the second as the team suffered successive league defeats and was eliminated from the Group Stage of the Europa League.I am not 'Au Fait' with the circumstances at Nice at that time but hope that history does not repeat itself at our club.

We are about mid-table in the PL with a 'Cushion' between ourselves in the relegation places. We all accept that the squad is 'Light' in terms of options.Last season was encouraging in terms of a change of style and supporters were content with the progress made.
Prior to the last 2 diabolical defeats we had won 4 of our previous 6 PL games.
At this juncture I have no desire to aim high-decibel fulmination in the direction of Patrick Vieira.

'Bah Humbug' on Christmas Day and nostrils flaring like an angry bullock on Boxing Day.

I would like to see a more direct style of play. We don't have the players to play out from the back and it usually results in a panic clearance to nobody or we lose the ball like yesterday which lead to their first goal. Zaha, if he stays, is more effective on the wing and have at least one of Mateta or Edouard or maybe both up front. I am not asking for Vieria to go but I am puzzled sometimes by his team selection and substitutions. The World Cup showed that those teams willing to go forward quickly were more successful than teams slowly playing out from the back

Veira is at a critical time in his management career which could quickly dissolve before his eyes if he doesn’t show some urgency, motivational skills and better selection decision making.

For a start, Hughes should start next to Doucoure to provide some strength and support in the centre of park. Not Milo who is now past it!

Defence need to work on their passing and finding midfield players. This should be worked and worked on training ground with no breaks until they get it right perhaps by that waste of space Roberts who also needs to step up.

The beatings will stop when morale improves.

I am just interested to know quite why you view Osian Roberts in such a light ?
Supporters in general have no knowledge as to the work carried out by Assistants/Coaches in training, behind the scenes or the help they give to their managers.

In truth… we are all bitterly disappointed with yesterday. I turned up early, my sons got autographs, treated them to some more Palace gear in the shop - and everything was looking good! There was a festive buzz around the place and couldn’t wait to see the ‘new improved Palace’ after a long rest and a positive preseason.

From kick off, you could see the team were nervous and Fulham were pressing hard, not allowing us to move the ball around and dominating the game.

The rest is history - I’d rather forget about it. My sons and I went home demoralised (Like so many). Only the players can put things right in the next game…actions speak louder than words.

PV - sack him? Really? A couple of positive results and we will pull away from trouble.
He has an excellent relationship with the team - and they know they let him down.

Supporting Palace has always been a rollercoaster of emotions….

The comments about needing to use Luka or Hughes only serve to underline how weak the squad is.

Interesting that Vieira didn't follow his initial instinct to use Ward at centre back as he did against Man Utd at the end of last season. Perhaps Tomkins selected to nullify Mitrovic's aerial threat.

I think we need a new 1st choice left back and centre mid. Tyrick has regressed alarmingly since his England call up. Not physical enough and his often caught out of position plus offers little going forward plus he's not that quick either. He is 23 now so people saying he's still learning are wrong, he should have his game in order by now. I'd rather have PVA back he couldn't do any worse

I fully support this view PV can only select from what he has available and frankly our squad is not of great quality, we only had two players at the World Cup and they both played yesterday and were not at their best either. Olise and Eze are unproven at this level in terms of experience and consistency, Dourcore is also unproven but hopefully has promise but as yet that is not evident. Parish thinks he can survive on a loan deal this window and therefore is delusional. PV is asking for at least three to five new additions and this will not happen because for whatever reasons our owners, who are amongst the wealthiest in EPL (Parish excepted) do not invest in quality players they instead hope to survive on a shoestring budget. The latter is the reason why we are being left behind whilst others around us move forward. sadly our league position may be mid table as a picture but in reality we are just six points off 18th place and those six points will go in a heartbeat if we do not get some new talent in before the end of January, if we do not then sadly relegation is a real possibility.

Fulham were miles better than us in every department yesterday. They are clearly an example of where the manager knows what he is doing, how to set his team up and the result is the collective is worth more than the sum of the individual parts. At the moment Palace are the complete opposite.
So many players were off the pace it’s not worth mentioning any of them individually. No one deserves any praise from yesterday and they all need to take a long hard look in the mirror as the performance was unacceptable.

My view is that the problem was primarily back 4 related; Clyne was poor and got taken off, Andersen was responsible for the fist goal and couldn't get into the game, Tomkins was clearly targeted and looked uncomfortable throughout, Mitchell - nothing that can usefully be added.

That said, I do think it was a one off and predict Palace will win the return fixture in 23 and there will be a big reaction against Bournemouth.
