Thought I would re-visit this now we have played some of our rivals. I made a mistake with Leicester and have corrected the first table.

............P........Pts....Pts/game
Palace......8.........19.......2.4
Leicester...10........19.......1.9
Wolves......11........16.......1.45
Bourne......10........14.......1.4
West ham....11........14.......1.27
Everton.....12........15.......1.25
Forest......12........15.......1.25
Leeds.......10........12.......1.2
South.......12........11.......0.92

Palace......10.........25......2.5
Leicester...12.........19......1.6
Bournemouth.11.........17......1.5
Leeds.......14.........21......1.5
Wolves......14.........20......1.4
West Ham....12.........17......1.4
Forest......14.........19......1.4
Everton.....12.........15......1.25
Southampton.13.........11......0.8

Leicester have lost their last two and their average has dropped accordingly. Southampton look doomed for sure.

Usually by this time of the year one team is cut adrift at the bottom leaving two places to fill.
IF we avoid defeat this weekend then that could be Southampton.
Another team that I think will join them is Forest, their next games are ;
H Man Utd
A Liverpool
H Brighton
A Brentford
Barring shocks, I dont think that they will get any points from those games. Then in the last four games they play Chelsea, Arsenal and possibly down before they play us on the last game of the season.
So that leaves the 3rd from bottom place which I believe will be Leeds who have a difficult last 4 games.

There are some key relegation battles coming up, but the key ones for the relegation battle are:

22 April Leic v wolves
25 April Leeds v Leic
1 May Leic v Everton

For me these are the teams scraping for that 3rd spot. Leicester need to win at least two of these and draw the other. But defeats for those two teams would be disaster!

There are other games but given the positions these are the important ones.

Enlighten me! How did Palace manage to get 9 points from 2 games?

Statistics dam statistics, you can get them to tell what ever story you want. The true and only statistic that counts is whilst the bottom three teams can still surpass our points total from the games left to play, then we are still in a relegation battle!

Still think it's the bottom 3 that goes down

Leicester forest and Southampton

Leicester could of course get a new manager 'Bounce' with the appointment of Dean Smith.

Definitely and I don't think any of them will reach 34 points, so I reckon we are almost already safe.

I currently have five of them on 34 points or less.

With my glass half empty hat on I’m always looking to next season and three worse teams. I said last season I wanted Leeds to stay up as I don’t rate them and they don’t invest enough. Same applies now. Leicester if they stay up are more likely to turn things around. Big if though.
