Close thread , we are safe , give hodgson another year

“This is a crisis, a large crisis.... in fact if you have a moment, it’s a 12 storey crisis, magnificent entrance hall, carpeting throughout, 24 hour portage , and an enormous sign on the roof saying “This , is a large crisis” - Edmund Blackadder

No - move it to Football Talk and we can enjoy debating which 3 will be going down.

Steady. I think this is Southampton's 11th year.

We're all just a summer of ridiculous boardroom strategy away from dropping like a stone.

I honestly think Southampton and Leicester are looking for company in their misery.

It’s not just ‘on paper’, both teams look very weak and jaded. It’s almost as if they’ve run a good race of late and just don’t have the steam for this or another PL season.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Whilst we are increasingly looking like we will comfortably avoid the drop let's not lose sight of the fact that our 3 wins under Hodgson have been against the current bottom two teams and one that is 16th and in real danger. All three of those teams are where they are for a reason - they aren't that good.

We have another such team (Everton) next game and we need to put them away as well. After that we won't find either Wolves or West Ham quite so obliging as our last 3 victims have been.

And Stoke had 10 years. Look at them now.

We were ‘safe’ in the Oldham debacle year.
Until maths says we are, I cannot fully relax

Yeah, Leicester's squad just looks in decline.

Southampton actually have a few players that could be interesting. Their massive, stupid naive error was thinking they could compete in the Premier League with highly rated youth players without any integration period.

Livramento & KWP anyone?

I don't really recall where Stoke went wrong. I think they just ran out of steam, and I do remember Butland having a bit of a mare.

This season strikes me as one with just ridiculous recruitment strategies that have really done clubs over. Southampton, Forest and Chelsea have been worse off for their investment.

And consequently we are 250-1 to go down. The same odds as Chelsea and Fulham.
