Leicester were two points adrift of Everton at the end with a better goal difference. So they were relegated by Mateta’s 94th minute winner against them. That’s pretty unlucky - one of the very few times he has converted. As you've subsequently realised, no they weren't. But you could just as easily say that they were relegated by the 4 points we gave Everton this season.
