Wow, such doom and gloom. Am I the only one who thinks we are 2 or 3 players away from having a realy decent team? At least first 11. As far as squad depth, not many teams in the bottom half have a strong bench. Most have a few youngsters on there. What bugs me is PV won't give them a run out. When your 4-0 down at home to spurs, why not stick one or 2 on. Can't have done any worse...

Last season I thought we were on the cusp of really solidifying our position and pushing on. But as events have shown, the opportunity was squandered. Not to maintain cover in the area where key players have left or injured, particularly the midfield, was extremely short-sighted. It was a very necessary time for investment in a key area.

That maybe true but at the risk of repeating what has been said on here many times, against teams above us that is proving to leave a chasm in midfield you can run an army through.

Which is why I said 2 or 3 players short.....obviously we need to strengthen midfield . But also tactics wise I think we are suffering from trying to play zaha olise eze and ayew in the same team, which weakens the strength of the midfield...

Well, a year ago Arsenal fans wanted Arteta out and Vieira in to replace him.

Hiring and firing is not the answer.

So you think Vieira is the right man?

Last season felt like an anomaly - it really did, it was way too smooth, enjoyable and it clicked. I liked that palace.

The club should have made sure losing CG was not going to be an issue - a like for like replacement.

Then, on top of that, 2 new additions, defence and attack.

After going to that shambles of a game, and watching the effort put in by players who earn more per game than i do in a year. Supported by a clueless manger. I have to change my mind...we are miles away from being a decent side..

Palace have Kouyate'd themselves.

We would be a much better proposition if we had not relieved ourselves of his services.

If you want to deny Harry Kane free headers its best to be 6'4" tall.

Ideal January? Gallagher back on loan and get Danny Ings who, although 30, is a year younger than Ayew and is a proven goalscorer in the Prem.

Well apparently someone at the club is listening...

Let's try again.

You know, I really feel as though Kevin De Bruyne would improve our midfield options.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Quite honestly I don't know.

We are roughly where we were at this stage last season, but at the moment it feels and looks like we have gone backwards.

There has been little investment in players that would strengthen the starting eleven, never mind the squad.

The club knew that they were going to lose Gallagher, chose not to offer Kouyate the contract he wanted and pinned their hopes on the sadly now injury prone MacArthur. Yes, we signed Doucoure - he looks to be a player, but he's battling to get to grips with the intensity of the league while receiving little support from those around him.

PV himself is still on a learning curve. The Great Graham Potter's first two seasons at Brighton nearly ended in relegation, but they kept their heads and their trust in him. There is an argument that we could and should do the same for Patrick.

In his first season Brighton finished in 15th Place, in his second season Brighton ended the season 16th, in his third season they ended in 9th place and in his 4th season he left after 6 PL games with Brighton in 4th position.
