Happy with the point not sure about the starting lineup I think that was a mistake but PV knows the player's fitness status.

One more point

Another point I wasn’t expecting and two unbeaten now, so we’ll take that.

Newcastle are good side as good as united and we managed to get points of two of the top four that's not a poor showing. How any one can criticize the passion of the players to look how hard they all work as a team unit and Wilf's frustration at picking up an injury.

No more 433 with this squad.
We continually leave our full backs exposed and Newcastle are the latest team to exploit the vast spaces down the sides.
There must have been about 20 crosses in, but fortunately their finishing or crosses were left wanting.
I know we drew and there were some good performances, but I do feel a 451 or 442 would suit our current squad better and enable us to compete across the width of the field.
If we had pacy full backs and better options in midfield perhaps 433 could work, but we have to accept we can't play like City or Arsenal with the current players.

A resilient showing and respect the point !

Nothing resilient about it, just damn lucky. Well beaten in every aspect of the game. Due to poor Newcastle finishing we escape with a point.

Not a great performance but a dogged one. A good point really. Newcastle dominated without producing any really clear cut chances.
Hughes came on and we immediately competed better. Also, whatever you say about Mateta, he's a character and actually produced the only really decent shot on goal from either team.

Newcastle will moan about Guehi, but if he is off so is Trippier if the ref is consistent. I really don't like Howe, but you have to admire what he's got out of some quite average PL players. Trippier was class for them. Strangely Bruno was awful and gifted us two or three chances.

Our MotM definitely Richards for me. Great to see Ozoh make his debut. Consecutive draws against two of the most in form teams in the league is pretty good.

Is this really premier league football we are watching now, it’s absolutely friggin awful. But at least we got a point against 12 men.

😂 I’m with you on this, these are professionals ffs.

Easy to be critical - but I guess we respect the point. A two week rest coming up before we play United again. Hopefully a few new additions - as our squad is light and not up to premiership standard. Funny, just compare the cost of the Newcastle bench to ours….

Interestingly - unable to create the same atmosphere as Wednesday - perhaps the players sensed this?!?!

the last ten minutes were very stressful to watch.

had the game been played for an extra ten or twenty minutes then surely newcastle would have scored.

delighted with the point, and relieved.

A good point but that’s 5 of the last 7 games in the league that we’ve failed to score.
