A good battling performance but as usual lacking quality in key areas, in particular delivery from wide positions.
Have to be happy with the point though even against an out of sorts Liverpool.

A bore draw it is, but away to Villa next, and another bore draw?

In previous seasons I would be delighted with a point against Liverpool but yet again we squander the chance of three points and yet again we fail to score. When is Vieira going to learn that Ayew and Mateta aren’t good enough! It must be so frustrating for Olise to keep creating chances that nobody seems to be able to put away.

OK with a point but no shots on target says it all.

A lot to admire in that performance. Our defending was admirable, and the midfield looked much more resilient. Only one point but a clean sheet. If Wilf had been playing, we might have won it.

If we played until midnight we wouldn’t have scored!
We are unfit and woefully short of quality and confidence.
When we break forward we don’t have the numbers probably down to the fitness.
What the hell do we do in training…. It definitely can’t be shooting practice or basic passing.
It’s woeful and papering over the cracks. Liverpool were very poor and there for the taking.
Our defence stood firm and was the only plus.

I know it sounds oversimplifistic but if Zaha was playing we win that. Matip and TAA were league one level defenders tonight and Schlupp and Mateta for all their effort have no quality or composure where it matters. I think the ref had his Liverpool shirt on underneath his kit. A draw was a fair reflection of the game, but tonight was a missed opportunity. If we are going to start scoring again we can't keep playing Schlupp, Ayew and Mateta.

P.s its 10 bookings before a suspension for second half of the season, so Anderson is fine.

I'm happy with a point.....especially against Liverpool, but, with a decent striker we could have easily have had 3. Unfortunately Mateta just doesn't cut the mustard, neither does Edouard come to that.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Respect the point. Things are slowly coming together, we made a few chances, which, with sharper instincts up front, we could have scored from. I believe for a striker it is a matter of confidence. We didn't look outclassed at all, and the ref had a questionable game.

Some posts on here are hilarious , I saw the line up thought oh god if we get battered tonight we are going to be in turmoil as a fan base , but regardless what form Liverpool are in we just got a point against them and looked the better side !!!!! There is no negatives to take from tonight’s performance , it fills me with absolute optimism , I’m getting really angry with the viera haters now , maybe they weren’t there when we got battered 4-0 at home to scunthorpe about 12 years ago?
