No idea how he's going to stop crosses if he's so short. Brighton, and many other teams, are going to exploit that

TBF that is the main concern however Guaita has hardly demonstrated strength there.

Whitworth only 6ft but so was Iker Casillas, as one example.

Hennessey was about 6"6' I think which sounded great but we should all be familiar with his ability to move that frame.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I’d be concerned if this is true.
He’s a promising young keeper and looks a good shot stopper with very good distribution.
However, he’s not a commanding keeper and if he does start Dunk, Webster, Ferguson and Welbeck will be licking their lips at the prospects on set pieces.

IF we stopped giving away stupid free-kicks on the edge of our box, he won't have that worry . . .

I questioned previously why was Butland allowed to go to United. He was needed last season several times. He’s not even on the bench up there so what benefit is there for him? All Prem clubs expect to have 3 senior keepers, so why risk only having two for the last third of the season? Hopefully Whitworth will prove to be the future number 1, but to pitch him straight into such an intense atmosphere as tonight without any previous first team league or cup games seems risky in the extreme and could seriously dent his confidence. Let’s hope he rises to the occasion if called upon and gives Guaita serious competition for his place in the remaining games

Hopefully just another internet rumour with no foundations, however if this is true I wish the lad well and hope he has a blinder. But we really shouldn't be in this situation.

It's yet another prime example of how the squad is seriously deficient in cover for positions and those who solely blame Vieira for our predicament really need to look higher up the chain.

Those responsible for squad planning and recruitment have left us short of numbers or quality in so many positions that should we go down I hope SP and the board hold their hands up and admit it is their fault.

Can’t find any news about this. Assume he is playing unless we hear something a little more concrete.

I saw him in a friendly and liked him. I thought he had a better grip on his slightly more experienced defence than VG. OK, a friendly is a different matter than a League-game, but let's see. He doesn't have much to lose, but a great chance.
