Beale from Rangers, wasting his time in that tin pot league

We’ll more likely end up with Ian Beale from Eastenders Utd.

My preference would be either:

1) Slot - his style would suit our players.
2) Hassenhutl - having spoken to a few Saints fans they are gutted he is gone. They reckon he would have kept them up.

I thought that with two 15th place finishes in his last 2 full seasons followed by 18th place after 14 games this season they were not overly upset when they heard about his departure.

You are obviously conversing with different Saints supporters, or perhaps that’s just your opinion? I think he is a very good manager and would do well with our players.

Fascinating article in the Athletic on Arne Slot who has just won the Dutch league with Feyenoord (only their second title this century).

He prefers to work with young players and has brought players from the lower division/Academy into the squad to replace players sold to PL clubs and seen those youngsters make the Dutch national squad.

A variety of coaches and players in the Netherlands speak highly of both his man-management skills and his ability to improve players

He seems the right kind of person for a project like ours, if the board decide to take a punt on a foreign manager with no PL experience.

I completely agree I've been advocating Slot since his name was first linked. I've had the time to research the potential managers as I'm off work atm (sadly due to illness) and of all the ones I've looked at Slot is the one that excites me, I could see being a good fit for our current squad and he is extremely well thought of in the coaching circles. Slot in and Roy to have some sort of role at the club would be my ideal if Roy does not want to continue.

Hope you feel better soon. If we can’t get Slot, I would like to see Fonseca. He had a better win ratio at Shaktar than Di Zerbi. These are the type of manager we need to be looking at but, anyone is a risk, is it something the Club is prepared to take?

This is just my impression,in actual fact Simon Jordan on 'Talk Sport' mentioned that Southampton supporters were not enamoured with Hasenhuttl.

This season, Southampton replaced Hasenhuttl with Jones who lost 7 out of 8 PL games and plummeted from 18th when he took the reins to bottom of the table. Then replaced him with someone who had never been a manager before.
Furthermore this season Southampton bought a plethora of inexperienced players in their teens or early 20s.

I don't feel that that's what Roy has in mind for the next stage in his career. After all, he and Neil and Sam have set out the
template for the future of top management. Over 70s will be in great demand.

Another name in the frame according to click bait might be a certain Graham Potter, or at least he might be on the shortlist, assuming he's interested?

Potter did very well at Brighton, before joining the long list of managers who got kicked out at Chelsea? The Brighton Palace rivalry is still a factor for some fans. But never for me . It's always mystified me actually.

I think he is overrated and has now been found out. His next job will be unlikely to be a success. No thanks

With the exception of Klopp, Guardiola, Arteta, Frank and Moyes there are no current managers in the PL that have lasted more than 2 years in the job, so chances are if you get a bad one or one you don’t particularly like, he’ll probably be gone fairly shortly anyway.
